Level 48 Board Overview: The U-Shape and the Missing Purple

Level 48 greets you with a chunky U-shaped Top Tray whose outer arms are one long Hidden Box chain. A few Yellow and Orange blocks peek out higher up, but most of both side columns are question marks. Two Tunnels dominate the center, each showing a counter of 4 — you must drop four blocks from the front before either one releases the Green and Red marbles trapped inside.

The front row of accessible blocks runs: Light Blue, Light Pink, Orange, Green, Red, and another Light Blue. Bright and inviting. Below them, the starting receivers demand Purple, Red, Light Pink, and Red.

Feel the disconnect: a Purple Box is waiting on the far left, yet not a single Purple block is available to tap anywhere on the tray. All the Purple is sealed inside the hidden chain. That gap between what the board wants and what it shows you is the whole level.

The opening layout manufactures one specific mistake. Here is the breakdown:

• Front Light Blue pair, Orange, Green: total bait. No Box wants them yet. Drop any of them and they squat on the Conveyor Belt, strangling your space before the mid-game even starts.
• Front Red and Light Pink: your only safe taps. Each matches a live Box, and each drop ticks the Tunnel counters down — double value.
• Center Tunnels (count 4): they hold Green and Red hostage. Every correct front-row clear is also a countdown tick, which is why the opening order is not negotiable.
• Hidden Box arms: the buried Purple lives somewhere in this chain, along with the Yellow that floods the board later. You can only strip it from the front backward.

The rhythm of the level is simple to say and hard to do: get both counters from 4 to 0 without letting a single orphaned color touch the belt.

Marble Sort Level 48 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Space on the belt is your most valuable resource. Spend nothing early.

Opening: the only two safe taps

1. Find the Red and Light Pink blocks in the bottom row of the tray and send both down the belt.
2. Let them sort into the matching Red and Light Pink receivers.
3. Do not touch the Light Blue blocks on the far edges, and do not touch the Orange and Green sitting under the Tunnels. Bait, all of them.
4. Watch the Tunnel counters fall from 4 toward 2 as your correct drops land.
5. New receivers slide up as the front clears — now you can start peeling the front of the Hidden Box chains on both sides.

Mid-game: hunt the Purple, zero the Tunnels

The board flips here: fresh colors reveal in the tray and the bottom grid gets much busier.

6. Strip newly revealed blocks from the hidden chain with one goal — Purple. That far-left Purple Box has been waiting since move one.
7. Drop Purple marbles the moment they flip. Clearing that Box shifts the entire bottom grid.
8. Keep clearing safe front colors to run both Tunnel counters down to zero.
9. When the Tunnels pop, they spit out a Green and a Red. By now the bottom grid has rotated Green and Red Boxes into the center columns — feed them immediately so the belt stays empty.

Cleanup: the color flood

The U-shape breaks apart and the belt comes under real pressure.

10. Read the final receiver layout: heavy Yellow, Pink, and Blue demand on the left, Light Blue and Orange on the right.
11. The corner Light Blue blocks from move one are finally legal — drop them into the Light Blue Boxes that surfaced on the right.
12. Prioritize Yellow above everything. The dissolving hidden chain dumps Yellow marbles all over the upper tray, and the left and center-right Boxes are hungry for them.
13. Keep the snake moving: work through Blue, Green, and Pink as their Boxes slide in, and finish the Orange blocks last to clear the board.
