Level 86 Board Overview: The Bolted Metal Plate

Level 86 welds a giant 3x3 Panel over the center of the Top Tray, stamped with the number 16. That number is the whole level: sixteen bottom Boxes must clear before those nine center tiles show their colors. Until then, the middle of the board simply does not exist.

Your only safe workspace is the bottom row of the Top Tray. Left to right it reads Black, Green, Green, Purple, Red, Blue, Brown. Peek at the second row and you can spot White, Light Blue, Yellow, another White, Blue, Pink, and Blue waiting behind them. Sheer columns of Mystery Boxes wall off both edges, and three Tunnels crouch along the top edge, loaded but unable to drop until the grid below opens.

The starting bottom Boxes ask for Purple, Brown, Blue, and Green, with Light Blue, White, Brown, and Blue stacked behind them. Convenient — the exact opening colors are sitting in that exposed bottom row. The catch is what comes after.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 86

This board is built to suffocate you slowly:

• The edge Mystery Boxes are slot-eaters. Tap a question mark and it might drop Black or Red while your open Boxes want Light Blue and White. That marble parks on your Conveyor Belt forever. Two bad reveals and the run dies before the Panel counter even gets close.
• The bottom row is a one-time gift. It matches your first four Boxes perfectly, which lulls you into tapping freely. The moment that layer clears, every further marble is either second-row digging or a blind gamble.
• The Panel counter punishes impatience. Sixteen Boxes is a long grind, and the temptation to rip open Mystery Boxes early is constant. Each gamble must be taken only when the belt has room to absorb a dead color.

Marble Sort Level 86 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

The opening is scripted. After that, it is belt management.

Opening: take the free matches

1. Tap the Purple marble in the right-center of the bottom row into the far-left Purple Box.
2. Tap the Brown marble on the far-right corner into the second column’s Brown Box.
3. Tap the Blue marble beside it into the third column’s Blue Box.
4. Tap both Green marbles on the bottom left into the far-right Green Box.
5. Pause and check the belt. Your starting Boxes are heavy but not cleared yet.
6. Pull the exposed White and Light Blue marbles from the second row to reach the remaining matches, and finish off the first layer of Purple, Brown, Blue, and Green Boxes.

Mid-game: grind the counter to zero

The next Box layer slides up: Light Blue, White, Brown, and Blue.

7. Fill the Light Blue and White Boxes first using the visible colors in the second and third rows.
8. Once the safe matches run dry, start tapping the edge Mystery Boxes — but only with at least three empty belt slots. Assume every reveal is a dead color.
9. If a Mystery Box drops something useless like Black or Red, leave it parked. Do not panic-tap. Find a safe match elsewhere to cycle the bottom Boxes forward.
10. If a reveal matches an open Box, route it in immediately and keep the belt clean.
11. Keep working both edges and watch the Panel number. Sixteen cleared Boxes is the only goal.

Finish: the plate drops

The instant the counter hits zero, the center plate vanishes and dumps a cluster of Orange, Red, Dark Green, and Yellow marbles into play. The bottom Boxes shift toward Red, Purple, Orange, and Pink.

12. Send the big Orange clump in the center into the fresh Orange Box first.
13. Clear the Dark Green marbles to open the space under the top Tunnels.
14. The Tunnels release their stored marbles as soon as the grid below clears — expect a sudden wave of secondary colors.
15. Mop up the remaining Red and Yellow clusters. With the whole board open, match whatever is left and close out the level.
