Level 98 Board Overview: The Sunken Center and the x2 Gate

Level 98 looks reasonable for about five seconds. The Top Tray is one big U-shape — two tall side towers with a sunken middle — and the colors in your face are Light Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Green. Down in that sunken middle sits the tile that runs the whole level: a x2 Multiplier Gate with a White block and a Brown block parked right on top of it.

Your four starting receiver Boxes want Light Blue, Yellow, White, and Orange. Now scan the bottom edge of the Top Tray: a White cluster, Yellow, Light Blue, Orange, Green, and another Light Blue. Almost everything lines up — except that Green cluster on the bottom right. There is no Green Box active. None. That Green is pure bait, and the belt in this level has almost zero forgiveness.

The side towers are stacked brutally deep. The left one traps Green, Yellow, Light Blue, Purple, Pink, and White; the right one hides Red, Orange, Dark Green, and still more Light Blue. You cannot reach any of that yet, and digging early is how runs die.

The layout is built to bait two specific mistakes:

• The Green cluster: it sits exposed on the bottom row looking like a free clear. Tap it and those marbles squat on your Conveyor Belt indefinitely, eating the exact space you need for the midgame.
• The tower tops: the upper blocks of both side columns look ready to go. They are, but their Boxes are not. Releasing them “to get ahead” just converts open board into belt congestion.
• The gate timing: the Multiplier Gate doubles whatever passes through it. Fire the White block through it at the start and the White Box clears instantly. The Brown block, though, has to wait — a Brown Box does not appear until the second wave of demands, and sending Brown early means a doubled pile of a color nobody wants.

The correct mindset: match the exposed bottom row of the tray against the live Boxes, and treat the gate as a precision tool you fire exactly twice.

Follow this release order. Belt control beats speed here — never drop a color on the hope that its Box shows up soon.

Opening: crack the front row

1. Tap the exposed Light Blue clusters on the bottom row of the tray. They feed straight into the far-left Light Blue Box.
2. Tap the White block sitting on top of the Multiplier Gate. It drops through the x2 zone, doubles, and wipes out the White Box in one move.
3. Drop the Yellow and Orange clusters from the lower tray into the center-left and far-right Boxes.
4. Leave the bottom-row Green cluster untouched. It does not move until a Green Box rotates into the active row.

Mid-game: the second gate shot and the tower squeeze

The first row of Boxes clears and the demands rotate: Pink, Light Blue, Brown, and Dark Green push to the front.

5. With a Brown Box now live, tap the Brown block in the sunken center and send it through the Multiplier Gate. Instant clear — and the middle of the tray is now completely hollow.
6. Start alternating the side towers. Release Pink from the right pillar and Light Blue from the left one to match the new demands.
7. As you dig into the left tower, Purple gets exposed and a big wave of Green threatens to drop. Only tap these when you have at least three open belt slots, or when their exact Box is sitting in the front row.
8. Keep one eye on the bottom row after every clear — resolving one side often pulls forward the very color the other side needs. Clearing a live Box always beats releasing a new color.

Cleanup: strip the deep stacks

9. Drop the high Green and Red blocks from the outer edges of both towers. The Boxes are cycling fast by now, so homes appear quickly.
10. Match the deeply buried Purple blocks on the left and the last Dark Green pieces on the right, strictly against whichever Box is currently active.
11. Clear the final stragglers to finish the level.
