Marble Sort Level 97 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 97 Board Overview: The Locked Fortress in the Middle

Marble Sort level 97 opening board — The Locked Fortress in the Middle

Level 97 greets you with a wall. The whole center of the board is grey Mystery Boxes stamped with question marks, and sitting dead center inside that wall are two stacked sets of Connected Boxes — one pair held by a yellow lock, the other by a purple lock. There is no route around this fortress. You take it apart or you lose.

The front row of the Top Tray shows five exposed blocks: Orange, Pink, Light Blue, Green, and Red. Down below, the four active receiver Boxes want Dark Blue, Red, Orange, and White. Do the math: only the Orange and the Red up top have a legal landing spot. The Pink, Light Blue, and Green are decoration — touch them and they clog your Conveyor Belt.

The keys that open both locks are buried in the extreme top-left and top-right corners, and three Tunnels (each holding 4 drops) sit across the top guarding them. The bottom Box columns are also heavily layered with hidden entries, so you do not even know the full demand list yet.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 97

This board is rigged to make you panic-pull the loose front row. Here is what is actually going on:

  • The bait trio: Pink, Light Blue, and Green in the front row have no active Box. Their Boxes live deep in the bottom stacks and will not surface until Dark Blue and Orange are resolved. Pulling them early is a belt jam with extra steps.
  • The hidden demand: the bottom columns are stacked with Mystery Boxes — column two alone hides two Purple targets behind its first reveal, and column three stacks two unknowns under the Orange. You cannot plan until you flip them.
  • The double lock: the Connected Box pairs in the center are frozen until you physically deliver the yellow key (left corner) and the purple key (right corner). No key, no center, no win.
  • The Tunnel temptation: those “4” counters up top look like free marbles. They are not. The Tunnels pay out in a fixed order, and triggering one before you need its color just floods the belt.

Your job is to carve through the outer edges of the Mystery Box wall, scare up Dark Blue and White for the outer receiver Boxes, and only then start the long climb to the corners.

Marble Sort Level 97 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

The opening is disciplined, almost boring. That is the point.

Opening: feed the only two real matches

Marble Sort level 97 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the front-row Orange block. It drops into the Orange Box in column three.
  2. Tap the front-row Red block. It clears the Red Box in column two.
  3. Stop. Leave the Pink, Light Blue, and Green exactly where they sit.
  4. Tap the grey Mystery Boxes directly behind the spots Orange and Red just vacated. You are fishing for Dark Blue and White to feed the far-left and far-right receiver Boxes.
  5. Only drop a revealed color if it matches a live bottom Box, or if your belt has clearly enough room to park it. When a bottom Mystery Box flips and shows its color, hunt its match in the lower rows of the wall first.

Mid-game: climb the edges to the keys

Once the first receiver Boxes clear, the side columns of the Top Tray start opening. Now the real excavation begins.

  1. Work the extreme left and right vertical edges of the tray, clearing upward column by column.
  2. Keep resolving newly revealed bottom Boxes as they flip — especially the double Purple targets that surface in column two. Purple marbles are plentiful in the middle-left and middle-right of the wall; spend them immediately.
  3. Push the left edge all the way up until the yellow key pops free. It flies to the center and smashes the yellow lock on the lower Connected Box pair.
  4. Push the right edge up until the purple key drops. That breaks the purple lock on the upper pair.
  5. Keep your hands off the top Tunnels. Their counters say 4, but until the center is fully cracked, their output is a liability.

Cleanup: empty the fortress and the Tunnels

Both locks are gone and the middle of the board finally moves.

  1. Clear the unlocked Connected Boxes in the center. This flushes a big wave of matching colors into the bottom trays and usually flips the last hidden receiver Boxes.
  2. Now, and only now, use the Tunnels — and only when a live bottom Box wants a color that exists nowhere else on the board.
  3. Sweep up the Pink, Light Blue, and Green stragglers you ignored at the start. Their Boxes are finally active.
  4. Cycle the remaining Tunnel drops into the last open targets to close the level out.

Level 97 Tips Recap

  • Two blocks in the front row are real; three are bait. Learn to tell them apart before you tap anything.
  • Flip bottom Mystery Boxes as early as safely possible — you cannot route around demand you cannot see.
  • The Tunnels are a finishing tool, not an opening one. Trigger them only when the color you need has no other source.
