Level 36 Board Overview: The Bait-and-Switch

Level 36 looks harmless for about five seconds. The colors are Pinkish-Red, Light Pink, Dark Blue, Orange, and Yellow, the columns are short and tidy — and then you notice the two horizontal rows of gray Mystery Boxes slicing across the middle of the board, plus two Tunnels on the left stamped with a countdown of 2.

The accessible bottom row of the Top Tray reads left to right: Yellow, Light Pink, Light Pink, Dark Blue. Directly above them sit Orange, Light Blue, Pinkish-Red, and another Dark Blue. Everything higher is sealed behind the Mystery Box rows until you clear what’s underneath.

Your starting receiver Boxes ask for Orange, Light Pink, Pinkish-Red, and Pinkish-Red.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 36

The trap is the front-left Yellow. It sits in the most clickable spot on the board and matches absolutely nothing — no Yellow Box is active. Tap it and it’s belt squatters from move one. The Dark Blue on the front-right is the same story.

Worse, the bait is load-bearing. The Orange block your far-left Box wants is trapped directly behind the Yellow, so you cannot score Orange until you deal with a marble that has no home. And above the Light Pinks lurks a Light Blue with no Box either — another dead tap if you get greedy.

The solution is buried in the bottom stacks: a Yellow Box hides beneath column four’s Pinkish-Red Box. The entire opening is about digging that Yellow Box up to the front line so the bait becomes playable. Until then, you work the center pinks and nothing else.

Marble Sort Level 36 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Belt space is your most precious resource. One wrong color ends the run before the Tunnels even matter.

Opening: work the center pinks

1. Leave the front-left Yellow and the front-right Dark Blue untouched. Both are bait.
2. Tap the two Light Pink blocks in the bottom center of the tray. They fill the Light Pink Box in column two.
3. Clearing them exposes a Pinkish-Red and a Light Blue. Ignore the Light Blue — no Box exists for it.
4. Tap the Pinkish-Red block. Two Pinkish-Red Boxes are active in columns three and four; feed one of them.
5. Concentrate on finishing column four’s Pinkish-Red Box. The Yellow Box you need is hiding directly beneath it, and it slides up the moment that Box clears.

Mid-game: cash in the bait

6. With the Yellow Box finally active, tap the front-left Yellow. The bait becomes a clear.
7. That frees the Orange block above it. Tap the Orange — your far-left Orange Box has been waiting since the first second of the level.
8. As you strip the front layers, the gray Mystery Boxes flip and reveal their colors. Expect more Light Blue in there.
9. Leave every Light Blue parked in the tray until a Light Blue Box actually surfaces. No exceptions.

Cleanup: the Tunnel drop

10. Your clears tick the left-side Tunnels down from 2. From here on, keep at least three empty belt slots at all times.
11. When the counters hit zero, the Tunnels spit hidden marbles onto the board. If your belt is stuffed with Light Blue or Dark Blue bait when they pop, the run is over.
12. Keep clearing the middle columns — the second layer of Boxes runs heavy on Orange, Purple, and Dark Blue.
13. Match the Tunnel marbles as they land, then let the bottom Boxes dictate every remaining tap. Once the Mystery Boxes are gone, the level becomes a straightforward color-matching sprint. Don’t rush it.
