Level 165 Board Overview: The Crate and the Chained Yellows

Level 165 opens on a seven-column tray with one wooden crate planted in the top slot of the second column. Directly below it hangs a Yellow marble with a raised ring, and it is chained to the slot behind it — tapping it drags its linked partner along. A second chained Yellow sits mid-height in column 6. These linked pairs are the level’s signature obstacle: every tap on a ring Yellow can pull company you did not ask for.

The rest of the opening board mixes Red, Green, Orange, Black, Teal, Pink, and Purple. The left column holds Red over Green, the third column stacks Orange over Black over Red, and the right side pairs Pink with Red. The receiver grid below asks for Yellow, Black, Orange, Red, and Purple in its front rows, with Green and more Yellow waiting behind. The top receiver row already holds three Oranges, and the conveyor is queued with a stream of five more — the level immediately wants to hand you a color you barely need.

• The chained Yellows: both ring-style Yellows are linked to the slot behind them. Tapping one can pull a second marble you were not ready to place. Wait until their target Boxes are in the front row before touching either pair.
• The Orange conveyor flood: five Oranges ride the belt before anything else. There are Orange Boxes, but they sit in the middle of the receiver grid — do not let the queue dictate your order.
• Black sitting deep: Black marbles sit in column 3 and again near the left edge, but the Black Boxes are buried in the lower receiver rows. Starting Black early jams the belt.
• The crate blind spot: the crate seals the top of column 2 and hides whatever sits behind it. Treat that whole column as off-limits for the opening.

Opening: clear the safe colors

1. Tap the Red in column 1 into the Red Box in the front row of the receiver.
2. Take the Green directly beneath it and park it in the Green Box lower in the receiver grid.
3. Clear the Pink at the right edge of the tray.
4. Strip the right side column by column — the Pink at the top sits over a Red, so the pair clears in two taps once their Boxes are exposed.
5. Feed Yellow only from the loose slots: the plain Yellow in column 6 and the Yellow at the base of column 5.
6. Do not touch the chained Yellows in columns 2 and 6.
7. Do not start Black, and do not feed the Orange queue yet.

Midgame: let the queue feed the front row

8. As the front receiver row cycles, it starts asking for Purple — clear the Purples from the middle of the tray while their Boxes are in front.
9. When an Orange Box slides into the front row, the conveyor’s Orange wave finally has a home — feed them.
10. Free the chained Yellows now that their Boxes are in front, so each linked pair drops cleanly together.
11. If a cluster of Greens drops loose near the top of the tray, feed the loose Greens to the open Green Boxes one at a time instead of letting them pile on the belt.
12. As the Black Boxes surface, start draining the Black marbles from the tray before the conveyor’s late Black wave arrives.

13. From here the tray is nearly empty; most of what remains — Purple, Teal, and the final Reds — arrives by conveyor.
14. Match every incoming marble against the front-row Boxes only, and skip a color whose Box is still buried behind the queue.
15. Finish the Black and Purple receivers, then let the last Reds and Teals close out the board.
