Marble Sort Level 158 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 158 Board Overview: The Numbered Cyan Caps

Marble Sort level 158 opening board — The Numbered Cyan Caps

Level 158 opens on a cross-shaped tray with two numbered Cyan tiles sitting at the top, one on each side of the board. They look special, but they are ordinary Cyan marbles — and at the start there is not a single Cyan receiver on the wall. The rest of the tray is a spread of Pinks across the middle band, Purples and a Dark Blue in the left-center, and a heavy cluster of Dark Reds stacking the right side, with a Dark Green near the bottom.

The receiver wall is a grid of twelve boxes in four columns, and the opening row asks for Red, Green, Pink, and Teal, with Dark Gray and Light Green boxes waiting behind them. None of those boxes want Cyan, Blue, or Purple yet — the exact colors sitting in the top of the tray.

Above everything, the conveyor queue is loaded with Dark Gray marbles in a long train, bracketed by Green and Teal groups that will cycle in as the boxes rotate. The whole level is a waiting game: the belt floods one color while the wall refuses the colors the tray is showing you.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 158

The opening board is rigged to make you dump the wrong colors first:

  • Two numbered Cyan tiles, zero Cyan Boxes: the top row flaunts a pair of numbered Cyan tiles, but no Cyan receiver exists until the midgame. Tap them early and they jam your hand.
  • The Dark Gray flood: the conveyor opens with a long train of Dark Gray marbles while only one Dark Gray box sits on the wall. The queue will try to hand you grays faster than you can place them.
  • The locked Blue Box: one receiver is sealed behind a lock icon and holds a lone Blue marble already. You cannot complete it until the conveyor delivers its key, so plan nothing around it.
  • Red demand vs. Red supply: every opening column carries a Red box, but the tray only starts with the Dark Red cluster on the right. The belt has to supply the rest — do not starve your hand of Reds.
  • Bait Purples and Blues: Purple and Dark Blue sit mid-tray with no boxes at the opening. They only become legal once the wall cycles.

The board wants you to clear the numbered tiles first because they are on top. Do that and you stall instantly. Instead, feed only the colors with open receivers and let the queue’s Dark Gray train pass through.

Marble Sort Level 158 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Play the open row, not the tray. The receiver wall rotates as boxes fill, so every color gets its turn.

Opening: feed the open row

Marble Sort level 158 mid-solve board

The first row of boxes wants Red, Green, Pink, and Teal. Everything else on the board is bait.

  1. Start with the Pinks in the middle band of the tray — drop them into a Pink box while it is at the front.
  2. Feed the Teal tile from the center of the tray into the Teal box.
  3. Tap the Dark Green near the bottom of the tray into a Green receiver.
  4. Work the Dark Red cluster on the right into the Red boxes, but leave a couple of Reds on the board — the wall wants more than the tray holds.
  5. Let the Dark Gray marbles roll past on the conveyor; only take them when the Dark Gray box reaches the front row.
  6. Do not touch the numbered Cyan tiles, the Purples, or the Dark Blue — none of them have a box open yet.

Midgame: the wall cycles to Cyan, Blue, and Purple

Once the opening row fills, the receiver wall rotates. The front row now shows Green, Cyan, Blue, and Red, with Purple and Dark Gray boxes deeper in the stack. Now the colors you were holding finally have homes.

  1. Feed the two numbered Cyan tiles from the top of the tray into the Cyan box — they are legal now.
  2. Drop the Purples and the Dark Blue into their receivers as they come to the front.
  3. Let the conveyor’s Red group supply the Red boxes that are still short; keep a Red box in rotation.
  4. Watch the belt for the key. When it arrives, unlock the Blue box — it already holds one Blue, so it finishes quickly once opened.
  5. Keep draining the Dark Gray train into the gray box whenever it cycles forward, and let the queue’s Green group top up the remaining Green receivers.

Cleanup: drain the funnel

With the wall mostly filled and the tray stripped down, the board funnels the last marbles into the remaining boxes.

  1. Play only colors whose box is in the front or second row — never pull a tile that has nowhere to go.
  2. The tail of the queue carries Gray, Blue, and Orange marbles for the final slots; feed them as their boxes slide forward.
  3. Finish each box fully before starting the next one. The last few clears pull the stragglers down on their own and the level ends with the victory screen.

Level 158 Tips Recap

  • The numbered Cyan tiles are ordinary Cyan — wait until a Cyan box cycles in before touching them.
  • The Dark Gray train on the conveyor is bait for most of the level; only feed grays when a gray box is open.
  • The Blue box is locked from the start and already holds one marble — save the key from the conveyor for it.
  • Play the open row, not the tray: Reds, Greens, Pinks, and Teals lead, then Cyan, Blue, and Purple follow as the wall rotates.
