Marble Sort Level 220 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 220 Board Overview: The Padlocked Center

Level 220 is a Very Hard board, and it is not a plain marble grid — this is the block-and-tile variant. The upper grid is stacked with grey mystery ’?’ tiles, a gold key tile, numbered hit tiles, and big 3x3 marble blocks. The middle of the board is sealed: the center column sits behind a padlock and chain, completely inaccessible until you free the key.
The lower holding area carries the colors you can actually feed at the start: purple, orange, yellow, red, and blue marbles packed in small stacks, with a white marble on the center platform. Everything useful early is down here, while the top of the grid hides behind mystery tiles and the locked column.
The board is built to punish greed. Only a few receivers are open at the start, the numbered tiles need multiple hits before they release, and the padlocked column cannot be planned around until the key arrives. Pace your reveals, feed only what has a home, and the tray falls apart cleanly.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 220
The board is rigged to make you tap everything in sight. Here is the layout:
- Center column padlocked shut: a chain and padlock seal the middle column completely. You cannot touch it until the gold key tile is freed and carried over.
- Gold key buried in column 2: the key tile sits partway down the left side of the grid, under mystery tiles. Reaching it means revealing and clearing whatever sits above it first.
- Mystery ’?’ tiles cap the columns: grey question tiles hide the top of the grid. Every early reveal is a gamble, and the visible colors under them do not always match an open receiver.
- Numbered hit tiles: tiles marked with a white ‘3’ (and a ‘2’ later) take several hits before they release their content. They are worth multiple tiles, but only when their color has a Box in the front row.
- 3x3 marble blocks: oversized blocks in the left and center columns count as several tiles in one drop — powerful when matched, a board-jam when not.
Marble Sort Level 220 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Unlock before you commit. Follow the release order.
Opening: feed the holding area, find the key

The opening board is all bottom and no top. The lower holding area is loaded with purple, orange, yellow, red, and blue stacks, and the gold key tile is buried under the mystery tiles on the left side of the grid.
- Feed the visible purple, orange, yellow, red, and blue stacks from the holding area into whichever receivers are open — these are the only completely safe drops on the board.
- Start peeling the mystery ’?’ tiles off the grid, working from the left. If a reveal matches an open receiver, drop it; if not, leave the column and move on.
- Keep revealing toward the gold key tile in column 2. Clear the tiles above it even if they are bait — the key is the whole point of the opening.
- The moment the key tile reaches the front of its column, use it to unlock the padlock on the center column. The middle of the grid is now playable.
- Do not feed any numbered hit tile or 3x3 block yet — their receivers are not guaranteed to be in the front row, and each one commits several tiles at once.
Midgame: break the blocks, bank the numbers
With the center open, the grid thins out and the receivers start cycling toward the heavier colors. The middle columns now show scattered solid blocks, numbered tiles, and mystery tiles mixing with empty slots.
- Break the 3x3 marble blocks as soon as their color matches a front-row receiver — each one clears a huge chunk of grid in a single drop.
- Bank the white ‘3’ hit tiles when their color is front and center. Three hits are expensive, so only commit when the payout lands in an open Box.
- Keep the conveyor moving: match the queue to whatever the front row asks for, and let the belt cycle past colors with no open receiver.
- When a ‘2’ numbered tile appears, treat it the same way — hit it only when its Box is active.
- Prioritize columns that reveal two matching tiles in a row; clearing them empties a column and opens the grid for the endgame.
Cleanup: group the colors and finish
The end frame shows the board stripped down to single-color runs: a full red stack on the left, long blue runs, an orange stack, and small green, purple, and pink groups scattered across the columns, with the launcher tray below carrying organized rows of green, white, orange, yellow, purple, pink, red, and blue.
- Every remaining tile is a single waiting for its receiver — play only to the active front row.
- Group the last blues, greens, oranges, and purples into their columns as the receivers cycle; matching runs finish Boxes in one pass.
- Feed the pink and yellow singles as their Boxes slide forward. Do not chase colors whose receivers have already closed.
- Let the launcher tray empty into the grid, land the final tiles, and the level completes the moment the last color drops.

Level 220 Tips Recap
- The center column is a padlock, not a puzzle: your opening goal is the gold key tile, and nothing else on the board matters until it is free.
- Feed only colors with an open receiver — purple, orange, yellow, red, and blue from the holding area open the level.
- Save the numbered hit tiles and 3x3 blocks for the midgame, when their colors cycle to the front row; they pay several tiles at once.
- In the endgame the grid is nearly empty — group the last colors into single-color runs and let the tray feed the stragglers.
