Marble Sort Level 189 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 189 Board Overview: The Center Crate

Marble Sort level 189 opening board — The Center Crate

Level 189 opens with a familiar headache: a wooden crate locks the two middle columns of the Top Tray, sealing four slots in rows two and three. The tray is five columns wide, and the crate leaves only the rim — left column, right column, top edge — playable at the start.

The colors that matter immediately are Green and Purple. The feeder already holds four of each before you make a single move, and the front rows of the receiver grid are wall-to-wall Green and Purple Boxes, with Red, Orange, Yellow, Gray, and Light Pink mixed in. Every color on the board except one has a Box waiting for it — Blue sits alone in the lower tray with no Blue Box anywhere in the first layers.

The opener is about restraint: the crate shrinks your reachable play area, so every wrong tap costs more than it would on an open board.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 189

The board is arranged to tempt you into opening everything at once. Here is what is really going on:

  • Center crate: a 2x2 lock block covers columns three and four in rows two and three. The four slots around it — Light Pink over Red on the far left, Purple over Yellow in the second column, Yellow and Red along the top, Gray and Blue at the lower right — are your only early game.
  • Feeder pre-load: four Greens and four Purples are already queued. That is not a gift; it is a demand. Their Boxes fill the front of the receiver grid, so the queue has to move before anything else will.
  • Lone Blue: the Blue marble in the lower tray has no Box in the visible receiver grid. Tap it too early and it jams the track with nowhere to go.
  • Left-column stack: Light Pink sits on top of Red, with two Oranges at the base. Only one Orange Box shows in the front layer, so the stack is a slow-release trap — useful, but only in the right order.

Marble Sort Level 189 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Follow the release order and the crate stops being a problem.

Opening: peel the rim around the crate

Marble Sort level 189 mid-solve board

  1. Start with the Greens already in the feeder — the front of the receiver grid is Green Boxes, and the queue is ready to move.
  2. Let the Purples follow. Three of the front columns want Purple, so this clears real space immediately.
  3. Tap the Light Pink on top of the far-left column into the Light Pink Box at the right end of the front row.
  4. Reach the Red underneath it and feed it into a Red Box — Reds are short on the board, so grab them as the Boxes come up.
  5. On the right side, drop the Gray marble into the single Gray Box.
  6. Feed the Yellow from the second column when the Yellow Box reaches the front.
  7. Release the two Oranges at the base of the left column — but only once the Orange Box is showing.
  8. Do not touch the Blue in the lower tray. No Blue Box is visible yet, so it waits.

Midgame: the queue takes over

Once the front row of Green and Purple Boxes clears, the board shifts. The top tray is almost empty by now — a few stragglers linger along the top edge and one crate block remains on the right — while the feeder runs long chains of Greens, Purples, Reds, Oranges, Yellows, and Blues.

  1. Play the feeder in order: keep Greens and Purples moving whenever their Boxes reach the front, since their demand stays heavy.
  2. Clear the top-row stragglers as their colors come up — they drop easily once the crate row is behind you.
  3. When a Blue Box finally appears, send the lone Blue down together with the Blues arriving in the queue.
  4. Red demand catches up in the middle of the level; feed Reds whenever the front row asks for them.

Cleanup: ride the single-file track

In the endgame the board narrows to one lane: marbles travel one at a time down the track to their Boxes.

  1. Watch the front row and release only the color whose Box is active — the track has no room for a wrong color.
  2. Drop the remaining stragglers from the top edge (Red, Orange, Yellow) as their Boxes slide forward.
  3. Finish off the last Greens and Purples from the queue to close out the level.

Level 189 Tips Recap

  • Green and Purple are the engine of the level: the feeder starts with four of each, and their Boxes own the front of the receiver grid.
  • Blue is the odd marble out at the opening — no Blue Box is visible, so park it until the midgame.
  • The left column is a slow-release stack: Light Pink and Red first, Oranges last, and only when their Box is showing.
  • In the endgame, the board plays as a single-file queue — tap only when the active Box matches the marble on the track.
