Marble Sort Level 173 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 173 Board Overview: The Blue-Flooded Conveyor

Marble Sort level 173 opening board — The Blue-Flooded Conveyor

Level 173 opens with a top tray of three numbered columns, each marked with a “3” and each capped by a Green marble. Reading top to bottom, the columns hold Green-Blue-Red, Green-Yellow-Orange, and Green-White-Red. That pattern is the whole opening tell: every column wears a Green cap, so every useful marble below it — Blue, Yellow, Orange, White, Red — is buried until you feed the Greens first.

Right under the tray, the conveyor is already crowded. A five-slot queue of Blue marbles sits on the belt, which means Blue pressure from the very first second. The main mid-grid is packed edge to edge with marble groups: a top row of Blue, Green, Yellow, and Blue tiles, a second row of Green and Orange-Red with a pair of Grey Mystery ’?’ Tiles, and deeper rows of Pink, Lime, Yellow, Purple, Cyan, Orange, and Red groups all competing for the same bottom boxes.

The receiver side runs along the bottom of the board in columns of boxes that cycle Green, Purple, Orange-Red, Cyan, Blue, and Yellow, with Grey and Pink boxes in the side columns. The colors you need are all available early. The problem is never the boxes — it is belt space. Five Blue slots plus a grid stuffed with eight colors means every careless tap costs a slot.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 173

  • Every top-tray column wears a Green cap. Green, Green, Green on top of all three columns. Blue, Yellow, Orange, White, and Red sit underneath, so you cannot reach them without dropping Greens first — and Green boxes fill up fast.
  • The conveyor queue is five Blue slots. Blue is parked on the belt from the opening frame. If you drop Blue without a Blue box at the front, the queue backs up and the run stalls before the midgame.
  • Grey Mystery ’?’ Tiles sit mid-grid. They park in the middle rows and never clear early. Treat them as dead space and build your plan around them, not through them.
  • Eight colors fight for the front boxes at once. Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, Lime, Purple, and Cyan all share the opening grid. Spreading your taps across every color jams the belt; finishing boxes instead of starting new ones is the only way through.

Marble Sort Level 173 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Opening: peel the top edge of the grid

Marble Sort level 173 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the Blue group at the top-left of the mid-grid into a Blue box.
  2. Drop the Green group beside it into a Green box.
  3. Feed the Yellow group into the Yellow box.
  4. Clear the second Blue group at the top-right of the row.
  5. Work the second row next: drop the Green group, then the Orange-Red group beside it.
  6. Tap the Pink and Lime groups in the third row into their matching boxes.
  7. Drop the Yellow and Purple groups that surface next to them.

Midgame: release the buried colors

  1. Clear the Cyan, Yellow, and Blue groups in the lower rows as their boxes cycle to the front of the bottom columns.
  2. Feed the Orange and Red groups as their boxes open further down the column stack.
  3. Leave the Grey Mystery ’?’ Tiles alone. They stay parked through the midgame and only clear in the final stretch — forcing them early wastes the exact belt space you need.
  4. Keep the five Blue conveyor slots in check: never release a Blue unless a Blue box is open and reachable.
  5. When the grid opens up, work the top tray last. The three Green caps go into the open Green boxes first, then the Blue, Yellow, Orange, White, and Red marbles beneath them in box order. The top tray stays full through the whole shown solve — treat it as your reserve, not your opening.

Cleanup: drain the last groups

  1. With the grid clear, the bottom boxes cycle Green, Purple, Orange, Cyan, Blue, and Yellow — feed the remaining groups in that rhythm.
  2. Finish the last Orange and Blue groups left on the board.
  3. Let the Mystery Tiles reveal and clear once the queue has room, then feed the final queue Blue into the last open box to close the level.

Level 173 Tips Recap

  • The mid-grid is the level: clear the top edge of Blue, Green, and Yellow first, then the Pink, Lime, Purple, Cyan, Orange, and Red rows below it.
  • Blue is the pressure color — five Blue slots wait on the conveyor, so always leave a Blue box open before dropping more.
  • Grey Mystery ’?’ Tiles never clear early. Ignore them through the midgame and save their reveals for the cleanup.
  • The top tray is Green-capped: when you finally open it, drop all three Greens first, then the buried Blue, Yellow, Orange, White, and Red in order.
