Marble Sort Level 217 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 217 Board Overview: The Mystery-Tiled Grid

Marble Sort level 217 opening board — The Mystery-Tiled Grid

Level 217 is the tile variant of Marble Sort, and it is marked Hard from the very first frame. Instead of the usual vertical tube stacks you get a 6x8 grid of square colored tiles, fed from below by marble stacks and a moving conveyor. The top of the grid is blanketed in grey ’?’ mystery tiles, so roughly half the board is hidden when the level starts.

The bottom area carries the real working pieces: a row of marble stacks (White over Pink over Yellow over Green, Orange over Green over White, Pink over Red over Orange over Red, and more) load the shooter, and a conveyor queue feeds them in runs of three — Orange, Orange, Orange, then Gray, Gray, Gray, then Yellow, Yellow, and Green, Green, Green. At the top of the screen three power-up buttons each hold one use: a magnet, a trowel, and a gumball machine. In the middle of the grid sits a special rainbow color-wheel tile marked with a “1” — the level’s named target.

The plan is simple to state and fiddly to execute: reveal the mystery tiles, feed the conveyor in color runs so the shooter always fires a color the grid can take, and treat the rainbow “1” tile as a finisher instead of an opener.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 217

The grid is rigged to make you shoot before you can see. Here is the layout:

  • The top half of the grid is ’?’ mystery tiles: about ten tiles are hidden at the start, and more ride the upper rows at mid-solve. You cannot plan a run against a color you cannot confirm.
  • The opening queue is bait-heavy: the conveyor starts Orange, Orange, Orange, Gray, Gray, Gray — but the visible grid is mostly Pink, Green, Red, and Yellow. Dump the early Orange and Gray runs at the wrong moment and the belt jams before the mystery rows open.
  • The rainbow “1” tile is a one-shot special: there is only one of them, sitting in the center of the grid. Spend it on a single tile and you lose the best cluster shot in the level.
  • Every power-up is single-use: magnet, trowel, and gumball machine each fire exactly once. Using one on a visible tile leaves nothing for the tiles you cannot see yet.

Marble Sort Level 217 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Reveal before you shoot. Follow the release order.

Opening: clear the visible tiles

  1. Tap the visible Pink tiles at the top-left and top-right of the grid first — they match the front of the left tray stack (White, Pink, Yellow, Green).
  2. Clear the Green tiles in the center and the bottom-right corner next; Green also rides the front tray stacks, so it never stalls the belt.
  3. Start peeling the ’?’ mystery tiles one column at a time, from the edges inward. If a reveal matches the color currently on the conveyor, keep it; if not, leave the column and move on.
  4. Feed the opening queue in its natural runs of three — Orange, Orange, Orange, then Gray, Gray, Gray. Only fire a run when a same-colored tile is actually visible on the grid.
  5. Skip the Yellow, Yellow, Green, Green, Green tail until a Yellow or Green target shows in the revealed rows.
  6. Watch for the star marble riding the belt — that special shot is the one worth lining up with the rainbow “1” tile later.

Midgame: chase the reveals

By the middle of the solve the grid has opened into scattered single tiles: Pink and Green up top, pairs of Red in the middle rows, and Yellow, Light Blue, White, and Black scattered below. The top rows are still ’?’ — that is the point where most runs die.

  1. Peel the middle mystery rows next. The grid clears row by row from the bottom, so the ’?’ tiles above are your real targets.
  2. When Red appears, take it in runs — the mid-board shows two Reds side by side with another just below, so consecutive Red shots clear a vertical stripe.
  3. Keep the shooter loaded from the middle tray stacks (Orange, Green, White and Pink, Red, Orange, Red). Match the front stack color to the tile the next reveal exposes.
  4. Do not spend a power-up yet. The magnet, trowel, and gumball machine each fire once — hold all three for the top rows.
  5. The moment a ’?’ tile reveals to the color currently queued on the belt, fire it immediately; the mystery rows open fastest when the conveyor and the reveals agree.

Cleanup: bank the rainbow tile

With the top rows exposed, the endgame is a short list of single tiles scattered across the grid and the belt cycling the last Red, Blue, Orange, and Pink runs.

  1. Play only to the active front: fire the last queued runs into the tiles they match and let the belt cycle past colors whose targets are gone.
  2. Save the rainbow “1” tile for the final pass — it clears a cluster at once, which is exactly what the last crowded row needs.
  3. When the grid is down to singles, let the conveyor feed them in order; do not reach across the board to force an earlier shot.
  4. The run ends on the completion screen with a 21-minute clock, the coin bonus, and the Continue button. The level closes the moment the final tile lands.

Level 217 Tips Recap

  • The grid hides its top half under ’?’ mystery tiles — peel before you plan, one column at a time.
  • Feed the conveyor in its natural runs of three: Orange and Gray open the queue, then Yellow and Green.
  • The rainbow “1” tile is a one-shot finisher, and every power-up fires once — spend nothing until the mystery rows open.
  • In the endgame the board is all singles: play only to the active front and let the belt cycle.
