Marble Sort Level 401 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 401 Board Overview: The Twin Countdown Markers

Level 401 is a tile-grid board played through a conveyor feed. Five uneven columns of colored tiles sit in the middle of the screen, a conveyor belt runs beneath them, and a row of four receiver Boxes lines the bottom of the tray. The board’s signature is a pair of blue countdown markers — each printed with a ‘3’ — perched on the outermost columns at the top left and top right. They tick down as you play and gate the edges until they hit zero.
The tiles themselves are honest and colorful: the upper halves of the columns are built from Green and Blue, with Yellow tucked into the middle rows, while Brown and Orange anchor the lower stacks and the center of the board. A Light Blue tile rides low on one outer column. The conveyor is already loaded when the level starts, running batches of Green alongside Purple and White blocks — and that is the first trap, because no Purple or White receiver exists on the opening board.
Down in the receiver row, the third Box from the left hides its target under a grey ’?’ mystery tile. You cannot stock that Box until the level shows you what it wants, so the mystery slot quietly eats one of your four lines of play.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 401
The board is rigged to make you clear the wrong columns first. Here is the layout:
- Both outer edges sit under a blue ‘3’ marker: the countdown markers cap the far-left and far-right columns. Clearing tiles and completing Boxes grinds the number down — by the endgame both sit at ‘1’ — but until then the outer columns do not fully pay out. Do not camp on the edges early.
- Purple and White ride the belt with no receivers: the opening conveyor is preloaded with Purple and White blocks, yet no Box asks for either color for a long stretch. Every one you tap into the queue is a slot you cannot spend on the Green and Blue tiles the Boxes actually want.
- The third receiver is a mystery ’?’ slot: its target color is hidden at the start, so you cannot plan a feed around it until the level reveals it.
- Brown and Orange sit low, where the funnel grabs first: they anchor the bottoms of the center and right columns, exactly where the conveyor pull is strongest. They are tempting early taps, but their Boxes only cycle in during the midgame.
Marble Sort Level 401 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Work the grid from the top down and let the receiver row set the pace. Follow the release order.
Opening: feed the Greens and Blues

- Tap the Green and Blue tiles in the upper halves of the columns straight into their Boxes. These are the only completely safe drops on the opening board.
- Keep the top rows moving: every Green or Blue you clear exposes the next tile beneath it and keeps the conveyor short.
- Do not tap the Purple or White blocks already sitting on the belt — their receivers do not exist yet, and dumping them into the queue just jams your own line.
- Ignore the mystery ’?’ Box until the level reveals its color; treat the slot as closed for now.
- Work the middle columns before the edges. The outer columns under the ‘3’ markers stay mostly sealed, so leave their stacks for later.
Midgame: tick the markers down
By the middle of the solve the upper half of the board is gone and the receiver row has cycled. The Boxes are now asking for Light Blue, Brown, and Green, with Yellow, Orange, and the mystery slot still to come. The remaining tiles sit in the lower halves of the columns — Orange stacks across the left and center, Brown under Orange on the right, and Blue at the bottom of the middle.
- Feed Light Blue and Brown as soon as their Boxes cycle forward — they arrive in short clusters that clear fast.
- Grind the countdown markers: as Boxes complete, the blue numbers drop toward zero. Each tick opens more of the edge column beneath it, so let the marker at ‘2’ or ‘3’ tell you which side is almost free.
- When Orange clusters surface in the center columns, release them only while an Orange Box is live. A run of Oranges without a receiver stalls the whole funnel.
- Watch for Green and Yellow batches arriving on the belt together — feed each batch only to a matching front-row Box, never both colors into a queue with one open slot.
- Keep the mystery ’?’ Box in mind: when it finally reveals its color, its tiles are usually buried mid-column, so switch your digging to that stack the moment the reveal happens.
Cleanup: the last Orange cluster
The final frame catches the level still in progress, not a victory board. The grid is nearly stripped: a tight cluster of Orange tiles remains in the center of the tray, the two outer markers have ticked all the way down to ‘1’, and the conveyor is still cycling Green, Brown, and Yellow batches toward the receiver row.
- Play only to the front receiver from here. Feed the center Orange cluster into its Box in short taps so the conveyor never holds more than one mismatched batch.
- Let the Green, Brown, and Yellow batches drain as their Boxes open — do not chase a color whose receiver has already closed.
- Keep clearing even when the board looks empty: the last ‘1’ markers and the mystery slot still owe tiles, so the level only ends once the conveyor has run its final colors.

Level 401 Tips Recap
- The two blue ‘3’ markers are a progress meter, not a puzzle — clear steadily and both edges open on their own by the endgame.
- Purple and White are poison on the opening belt: no receiver wants them, so never tap them into the queue early.
- Only feed a color whose Box is live — Green and Blue open the level; Orange, Brown, and Yellow wait for their midgame receivers.
- The video ends just short of the final feed, so treat the last Orange cluster with patience: short taps, front-row Boxes only, and let the belt finish the level.
