Marble Sort Level 406 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 406 Board Overview: The Mystery-Sealed Tray

Level 406 opens as a hard tile-grid board, and the first thing it does is hide half of itself. The tray is packed edge to edge with marble stacks, and across the middle and top rows the columns disappear under grey ’?’ mystery tiles and numbered marker tiles marked 2 and 3. Those markers act as locks: each one seals a buried stack until the puzzle hands you enough cleared marbles to crack it open.
The colors in play are the full board palette — Green, Yellow, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red, Pink, Purple, Orange, Brown, and Grey. At the start the receiver Boxes below the tray sit empty and unlabeled, so the opening is about reading which visible stacks the game will want first. The mid-solve frames show the honest answer: Green, Light Blue, and Yellow land in their Boxes first, and Red follows in a long run shortly after.
Nothing about this tray is a straight line. Every early drop pays double duty — it fills a Box and it counts toward unlocking the numbered markers that guard the rest of the board. Reveal the ’?’ tiles, feed the open colors, and let the marker locks crack in sequence.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 406
The board is rigged to make you tap faster than the Boxes can keep up. Here is the layout:
- Numbered marker tiles seal the mid-board: columns capped with 2 and 3 markers stay locked until the puzzle counts out that many cleared marbles. Waste drops on unopened Boxes and you stall your own unlocks.
- Mystery ’?’ tiles blanket the top stacks: the tallest columns are hidden, so early planning has to survive a reveal or two before you see the real board.
- No room to breathe: the opening tray is packed edge to edge with almost no empty slots, so greedy taps on colors without an open Box jam the whole flow.
- Late-game stragglers: the end frame still shows Brown and Red marbles on the board long after the main colors clear — they need their Boxes to cycle forward before they can move.
Marble Sort Level 406 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Let the Boxes dictate the pace. Follow the release order.
Opening: feed what the tray shows

- Start with the fully visible, short stacks — the Greens, Yellows, and Light Blues sitting in plain sight. Feed each one into a Box the moment its color reaches the front of the receiver row.
- Work from the outside of the tray inward, emptying whole columns one marble at a time so real gaps open up for parking.
- Leave every numbered marker column and ’?’ tile alone during the opening — none of the buried colors have Boxes yet, and revealing them early only adds pressure.
- Tap only colors whose Box is already waiting. On this packed board, a single wasted drop can cost you the empty slot you needed next.
- Keep the flow Green, Light Blue, and Yellow until the front receivers start closing and the next colors cycle into view.
Midgame: crack the markers
By the middle of the solve the frames show the lower tray cleared out: Green is already two deep in its Box, Light Blue and Yellow have stacked up, and Red is mid-run on the way down. The columns above still stand full — Red, Green, Grey, Yellow, Light Blue, Orange, and Pink stacks all waiting up top.
- Feed the Red runs hard as they arrive; the mid-solve frames show Red flowing in batches, so keep its Box front and center while the run lasts.
- When a numbered marker unlocks, bank its stack immediately — a 2 or 3 marker pays several marbles at once into whichever Box is open, clearing huge tray space.
- Peel the ’?’ mystery tiles one column at a time. If the reveal matches an open Box, drop it; if not, leave the column and come back after the receivers cycle.
- Treat Pink, Purple, and Orange as bait in the midgame — they sit in the tall stacks but their Boxes rotate in late, so do not park them in your limited empty slots.
- Prioritize columns that expose two matching marbles in a row; clearing them empties a column and cracks the next lock faster.
Cleanup: sort the stragglers
The end frame shows the tray stripped down to a handful of leftover stacks — Green, Grey, Yellow, Pink, Blue, Light Blue, Red, and Brown still waiting — with the receiver row still open and no victory banner yet. The level becomes a straight finishing line.
- Every remaining stack is short now, so play only to the active front row and let the receivers cycle toward what is left.
- Do not chase colors whose Boxes have already closed; a parked straggler only eats the empty slots you need.
- Brown is the classic late wait — leave it on the tray until its Box finally slides to the front, then clear it in one tap.
- Keep feeding the last singles and pairs until the final marbles land and the tray empties completely.

Level 406 Tips Recap
- Numbered marker tiles (2 and 3) are the level’s locks — every clean drop counts toward cracking them, so never waste marbles on unopened Boxes.
- Only feed colors with an open Box; Green, Light Blue, and Yellow open the level, while Pink, Purple, and Orange wait for the midgame.
- Reveal ’?’ mystery tiles one column at a time and drop only the reveals that match the front receiver.
- In the endgame, slow down: Brown and Red stragglers simply wait for their Boxes to cycle forward before the final taps.
