Marble Sort Level 388 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 388 Board Overview: The Crate-Sealed Grid

Marble Sort level 388 opening board — The Crate-Sealed Grid

Level 388 opens as a hard board, and the first thing you notice is how much of it is hidden. The grid runs seven columns wide, and grey ’?’ mystery crates sit across the upper rows of the outer columns — the first and second columns are both double-capped, the far-right column carries another pair, and one more crate waits on the center-left at row four. Below that band, solid brickwork braces the lower-center rows, so the board reads as a ring of honest edges around a sealed middle.

The colors you can read at the start are the ones the level wants you to use. The left edge stacks Reds above a base Green; the second column caps with a Blue; the center-left column shows a pair of Purples at its top; columns four and five carry Pinks, with an Orange tucked under the Pink in column four; and the right side holds a Red with Light Blue beneath it while Yellow waits low. Under the grid, the receiver boxes open asking for Green, Red, Pink, and Yellow, with Red slots in the lead.

Almost nothing in the middle columns has a home yet. Purple, Light Blue, and Orange are all sitting in plain sight with no live receiver, and the queue that feeds the boxes will add White, Red, Orange, Light Blue, Green, and a very long train of Purple as the level goes on. The opening is not about speed — it is about feeding only the colors the front row can actually take.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 388

The board is rigged to make you reveal and dump faster than the boxes can absorb. Here is the layout:

  • The crates seal the flanks: both outer columns are double-capped with ’?’ crates in the upper rows, and another crate sits mid-board on the center-left. Every reveal is a gamble, so lift them one at a time and only when an open box could catch the color underneath.
  • Only the opening colors have live boxes: the front requests are Green, Red, Pink, and Yellow, and the boxes behind them cycle in later. The center of the grid is stacked with Purples, a Light Blue, and an Orange under a Pink — tap those early and they park on the queue with nowhere to go.
  • Solid brickwork walls off the lower center: a band of gray bricks and a wooden block stays planted across the lower rows through the midgame, splitting the grid and forcing you to clear the sides before the middle opens.
  • The queue runs a deep Purple train: by mid-solve the feed carries long batches of White, Red, Orange, Light Blue, Green, and Purple — Purple by far the longest. Dump Purples before their box surfaces and the whole line jams behind them.

Marble Sort Level 388 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Feed the edges, then drain the middle. Follow the release order.

Opening: work the honest edges

Marble Sort level 388 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the Reds stacked on the left edge into the Red receivers — Red is requested from the start, and the left column strips down fast.
  2. Send the Yellow waiting low on the right side into a Yellow box as the front row takes it.
  3. Feed the Green at the base of the left column as soon as its slot cycles live.
  4. Clear the Pinks from columns four and five into the Pink receiver.
  5. Leave the double Purple at the top of the center-left column alone — no Purple box is open yet, and the queue will bring plenty of Purples later.
  6. Do not lift the ’?’ crates over columns one, two, or seven yet. When you finally do, reveal one crate at a time so a bad reveal cannot flood the queue.

Midgame: drain the middle and the queue

By mid-solve the left side of the grid is down to a single Red, and the brick-braced center dominates the board. The receiver targets have cycled to surface Green, Orange, Red, and Pink boxes on the right, and the queue is feeding long mixed runs — a deep Purple train backed by Green, Orange, Light Blue, Red, and White batches.

  1. Feed the lone Red on the left while its box stays live, then turn your attention to the center.
  2. Tap the Orange tucked under the Pink in column four now that Orange boxes are live — the queue saves most of its Orange for the closing run, so the grid’s own supply matters.
  3. Drain the center Purples steadily. The double stack on the center-left opens the middle of the board, and every Purple you feed clears space in a queue that is about to deliver dozens more.
  4. Let Light Blue batches ride through only when a Light Blue request is visible; otherwise they just clog the line.
  5. Work around the brick bar at the lower center — it stays planted, so finish one side of the grid before expecting the other side’s marbles to find room.
  6. Lift the ’?’ crates as their rows clear: drop whatever reveal matches a live box and leave the rest covered.

Cleanup: ride the final Orange run

The end frame catches the board mid-cleanup rather than at a victory screen. The Yellow, Green, and Purple boxes are already sealed, the Orange box is the only live receiver left, and a final batch of Orange is already dropping toward it. Above the tray only a few stragglers remain: a small stack of Pinks, one last Orange, and a handful of un-revealed ’?’ crates.

  1. Play to the Orange box from here on — it is the only slot still open.
  2. Leave the Pink column and the leftover crates alone unless a Pink slot cycles live; they are harmless at this stage.
  3. Let the final Orange batch land on its own, and the level closes out the moment the last slot fills.

Level 388 Tips Recap

  • The opening is edge work: feed Red, Yellow, Green, and Pink — the only colors with live boxes — and treat the center Purples, Light Blue, and Orange as bait.
  • Treat every ’?’ crate as a gamble: reveal one at a time, and only when an open box could catch the color underneath.
  • The midgame is queue-driven, and Purple is the longest train in it — keep a Purple box live and drain steadily instead of dumping.
  • In the endgame only Orange is still open; ride the final batch and leave the last singles and crates alone.
