Level 555 Board Overview: The Half-Empty Tray

Level 555 skips the packed opening. The tray columns start only two or three marbles deep — just a couple of stacks reach the top of the board, and the bottoms of most drop lanes are already open. What the level lacks in height it makes up for in timing, because the conveyor below never stops moving.

The engine of the board is the live belt that runs between the columns and the four collector Boxes at the base. Loose Light Blue and Purple marbles are already riding the belt toward the Boxes when the level starts, and the two green x2 rollers at the bottom of the board sit over the collection area, doubling the value of everything that passes beneath them.

The color split decides the order of play. The left-hand columns are built from the Dark Blue family — Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Grey stacked on top of one another — while the center and right columns mix Orange, Pink, Green, and Purple. Only some of those colors have a Box waiting to accept them at any moment, and the belt will not pause while you decide which is which.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 555

The belt is a patience test disguised as a sorting level. Here is the layout:

• The belt is always moving: every marble you tap drops down onto a live lane that carries it toward the Boxes. Tap too freely and loose marbles pile up between the grid and the x2 rollers with nowhere to go.
• Not every color has a Box yet: the Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Grey family on the left is the opening demand, while the Orange, Pink, Green, and Purple stacks on the right have no collector until the Boxes rotate. Feeding them early jams the belt.
• The Boxes hold partial stacks at the open: the four collectors already contain several marbles when the level starts, so the visible ask is smaller than the total each Box needs — a collector can look nearly full and still swallow a long run of its color.
• Wanted colors sit under bait: in the center-right stacks the marbles the Boxes actually want are buried beneath the still-closed colors on top, so every premature tap exposes nothing but dead weight.

Play the demand, not the tray. Follow the release order.

Opening: clear the Dark Blue family first

1. Watch the belt before you tap. The loose Light Blue and Purple marbles already riding toward the Boxes are your safest early feeds — release them as their collectors slide into the active row.
2. Work the leftmost column, where two Dark Blues sit above a buried Light Blue. Clear the top Dark Blue into its Box first so the Light Blue underneath becomes reachable.
3. Peel the Light Blue out of the left column the moment its Box opens — it drops straight down once the Dark Blues above it are gone.
4. Move to the second column and take the Grey marble from under its Dark Blue cap the same way.
5. Do not touch Orange, Pink, Green, or Purple yet. Their collectors are not active, and the left-hand family is the only demand you can safely feed while the belt is still uncrowded.

Midgame: the Boxes rotate toward the late colors

Once the Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Grey marbles have drained out of the columns, the front Boxes cycle toward the colors that were bait in the opening. The mid-solve board shows exactly that shift: the left-hand family is gone from the grid and the surviving stacks are Orange, Pink, Green, and Purple.

6. Clear the single Grey straggler that can linger on a left column top — it is the last of the opening family and its Box will keep cycling in.
7. Tap the Green that caps the center-right stack. The column is built Green over a run of Pinks, so freeing the Green unlocks the whole cluster beneath it.
8. With the cap gone, feed the Pinks in their natural run — the stack releases several of them in a row, and a matching Box swallows them quickly.
9. Drop the lone Orange from the open column whenever its Box is active; on this board Orange and Purple arrive as singles and short groups rather than tall stacks.
10. Keep the belt clear above all else. If the queue is crowded and the next color in line has no open Box, stop tapping and let the Boxes rotate instead of feeding the jam.
11. Finish clearing Purple as its collector opens. The columns thin out fast once Orange, Pink, Green, and Purple are all being accepted.

Cleanup: drop the last singles

The end frame catches the board just short of the finish: the tray stripped down to a handful of single marbles scattered across the columns — one Orange, one Green, one Pink, one Purple — with the collectors still taking their final marbles and the belt still running.

12. Every remaining marble is a single waiting for its Box to slide to the front. Play only to the active collector.
13. Let the belt cycle: with so few marbles left in the grid, the last colors reach their Boxes in quick rotation. Do not chase a color whose collector has already closed.
14. The level finishes the moment the final stray drops. If the columns run dry before the last Box reads full, the closing frames show the collectors pulling the tail of the belt in on their own.
