Marble Sort Level 409 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 409 Board Overview: The Numbered-Gate Grid

Level 409 plays on the block-grid variant: a top tray of square marble tiles stacked in columns feeds down into a queue lane, and that lane fills the receiver slots below. What makes this board different is the bottom of the tray — the lower cells of nearly every column are sealed behind block obstacles carrying numbered purple gates, marked 2 and 3. Those gates only release once the feeding in front of them has progressed, so the opening is a lock-picking exercise rather than a free sort.
The colors that are safe from the first tap are White, Dark Red, and the two Blue tones (Light Blue and Dark Blue). The queue lane opens pre-loaded with exactly that family: White near the front, Light and Dark Blues behind it, and a run of Dark Red tiles waiting to feed. The visible piles in the tray meanwhile run through Pink, Orange, Dark Grey, and Green stacked over the gated rows, with a few extra Blues and Whites dotted through the middle.
The whole board is built to reward patience. Only a handful of receivers are asking at the start, the tray colors that will matter later are parked right on top of the locked cells, and the gates will not open until you have fed the colors that already have homes. Unlock in order, feed in order, and the buried rows slide out on their own.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 409
The board is rigged to make you force the locks. Here is the layout:
- Numbered gates seal most of the tray: purple gate blocks marked 2 and 3 sit in the lower rows of nearly every column, hiding the biggest stock of Orange, Grey, and Green behind them. You cannot reach those piles until the gates release.
- The lane starts loaded, but the receivers do not: White, Blue, and Dark Red tiles ride the queue from the first frame. Feed anything else and you park a tile that has no open home while the lane jams.
- Pink and Orange sit on top of the locks: the middle rows tease you with Pinks and Oranges sitting right at the surface. Their receivers are not asking yet, so every tap on them is a gamble.
- The numbers pace the level: the 2s and 3s on the gates tell you the board will not let you skip ahead — if a color’s row is still sealed, no amount of feeding that color helps until its turn comes.
Marble Sort Level 409 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Play the loaded lane before you touch the tray. Follow the release order.
Opening: clear the lane that is already loaded

- Feed the White tile at the head of the queue lane into the White receiver slot — it is the first home the level offers.
- Follow with the Light Blue and Dark Blue tiles riding behind it in the lane; their receiver slots sit open on the front row.
- Let the run of Dark Red tiles at the back of the lane drop into the Dark Red receiver — three identical tiles finish a slot fast.
- Work the visible Blues and Whites sitting in the tray’s middle rows into the same open receivers, and keep the feed moving.
- Do not touch the Pinks, Oranges, Dark Greys, or Greens yet. Their receivers are closed and their bottom rows are gated — every one you tap early is a tile you cannot place.
Midgame: unlock the gated rows
Once the opening colors clear, the front receivers cycle and the locked cells finally start to release. The mid-solve frame shows the board thinned out and the action moving through the funnel in runs — the level is now about feeding whatever the fresh receivers ask the moment they open.
- Feed the Oranges the instant an Orange receiver slides forward — the mid-board is where the big Orange cluster breaks loose, and it arrives in a rush.
- Watch for the Dark Grey slot to open next. The Grey tiles sit low in the tray, and they feed in a quick run once the gate above them clears.
- Keep the Blues moving whenever a Blue receiver is front and center — Blue tones are still scattered through the columns and the queue.
- Always release in same-color runs: an identical run of three empties a receiver in one pass and gives the sealed rows room to open.
- If a color’s receiver is not in the active front row, stop feeding it. Let the tray cycle instead of letting the lane back up.
Cleanup: feed the stragglers
With the gates open and the tray nearly stripped, the level becomes a straight finishing line. The end frame still shows open receiver slots and the queue mid-cycle, so the last phase is pure front-row discipline.
- Every remaining tile is a single waiting for its receiver to slide forward — play only to the active front row from here.
- When the run of Light Pinks appears in the queue, feed it as one batch to close out a slot in a single pass.
- Let the last scattered Greens, Whites, Dark Greys, and Blues cycle into their closing receivers, and the level completes the moment the final tile lands.

Level 409 Tips Recap
- Clear the pre-loaded lane first — White, then the Blues, then the Dark Red run. The opening never requires a tray gamble.
- Pink, Orange, Grey, and Green have no early homes; leave them stacked above the gates until their receivers cycle forward.
- Respect the numbers: the 2s and 3s on the gates mean the board cannot be rushed, so never park a color whose slot is still closed.
- In the endgame only singles remain — cycle the queue and feed strictly to the active front row.
