Marble Sort Level 404 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 404 Board Overview: The Mystery-Shrouded Tray

Marble Sort level 404 opening board — The Mystery-Shrouded Tray

Level 404 opens as a Hard board, and almost everything is hidden. The six-column tray is capped at the top by a row of grey ’?’ mystery tiles, with more mystery tiles scattered down the left and right edges, so the opening position hides far more than it shows. Only the center-top of the tray is honest at the start: a Yellow sitting above a Red, a White sitting above a Green, plus a handful of White, Pink, Red, Light Blue, and Orange tiles peeking out between the question marks.

Two blue crates stamped with numbers sit side by side in the middle columns — one reads 0 and the other 3 when the level begins. They behave like locks: the 3 ticks down as you feed the board, and the crate columns only finish their stacks late in the solve. Below the tray, the conveyor is already loaded with a long run of tiles — Light Blue and Pink up front, then a heavy batch of Green — while the bottom receiver lanes start pre-stacked with Pink and Red beneath their own mystery caps.

The receiver line cycles as you clear tiles, eventually asking for Light Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, White, and Dark Blue. Every one of those colors is buried under a question mark at the start, which is the whole point of the level: you have to reveal the tray before you can sort it.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 404

The board is rigged to make you dump tiles you cannot place. Here is the layout:

  • Mystery ’?’ tiles cover the top and both edges: whole columns begin unreadable, so any tile you plan around at the top is a guess until you tap it and reveal the color underneath.
  • The center crates stall two columns: the numbered crates (0 and 3) sit over the middle stacks, and their countdown controls when those columns can finish. Feed around them instead of forcing them.
  • The conveyor over-stocks Green: the belt starts with a long Green run while the early receivers are still on Pink and Red. Tap Green early and the queue jams before its receivers ever arrive.
  • The receivers start masked too: the bottom lanes open under mystery caps, so even your targets are half a surprise — reveal them and match the front lane before committing anything from the belt.

Marble Sort Level 404 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Reveal the board before you commit to it. Follow the release order.

Opening: reveal, don’t commit

Marble Sort level 404 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the visible Yellow and White singles at the top-center of the tray first — they are the only tiles you can fully plan on, and their columns sit above Red and Green that you will want next.
  2. Feed the Red under the Yellow and the Green under the White as matching receiver lanes come to the front.
  3. Start peeling the ’?’ mystery tiles off the left and right edges. If a reveal matches a receiver that is front and center, drop it; if not, leave that column and move on.
  4. Pull Light Blue and Pink off the front of the conveyor into their open lanes — the belt front is loaded with both, so they clear in batches.
  5. Do not tap the long Green run yet. Green has no early lane, and parking six Greens on the belt blocks everything behind them.

Midgame: let the crates count down

Once the edges are revealed, the middle of the tray is the whole fight. The front receivers have cycled past Pink and Red onto Light Blue, Green, Yellow, and Orange, and the columns now expose mixed stacks — Yellow riding over Dark Blue, Red stacked on Light Blue, Orange at the bottoms. The numbered crates still cap the center, with the 3 ticking down as tiles feed around it.

  1. Feed Yellow and Orange the moment their lanes open — the mid-frame shows them stranded on top of nearly every remaining stack, so they clear fast once targeted.
  2. Reveal the center columns one tile at a time as the crate numbers drop. Do not rush them: a stack under a crate that still reads 2 or 3 has nowhere to go.
  3. When the Green run reaches the front of the belt, hold it until a Green lane is active, then release the batch — finishing a whole run in one pass empties the queue.
  4. Watch for Dark Blue at the base of the tall columns and feed it as its lane cycles; it is the color the late receivers keep asking for.
  5. Take belt tiles in color-matched batches only. A Red, Orange, or mystery ’?’ tile riding the queue is a signal to stop and re-check which lane is actually open.

Cleanup: feed the stragglers

The end frame shows the tray stripped down to a few leftover singles — a Pink, a Yellow, a Green, and an Orange scattered across the columns, with the crates still holding the last center tiles. The video ends with the board still mid-solve, so finish by playing only the front lane.

  1. Play only to the active front receiver from here — every remaining tile is a single waiting for its color to cycle forward.
  2. Let the queue turn over: the last Greens, Yellows, and Whites drop in as their lanes open. Never stack a tile whose lane has already closed.
  3. Feed the final center tiles as the crate countdown reaches zero, and let the last strays fall. The level completes when the tray finally empties.

Level 404 Tips Recap

  • Reveal before you commit: most of the opening tray sits under ’?’ tiles, so never plan a combo on a color you cannot see.
  • Feed Pink and Light Blue early; hold the long Green run until a Green lane actually reaches the front.
  • The numbered crates in the center are locks, not targets — play around them and let the numbers count down.
  • In the endgame, one lane at a time: only drop a color whose receiver is front and center.
