Marble Sort Level 338 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 338 Board Overview: The Locked Grid

Marble Sort level 338 opening board — The Locked Grid

Level 338 is a grid-style Marble Sort board, and it opens with the top of the tray sealed shut. Four numbered lock tiles sit across the upper area, each marked with a “2” — they demand two matching marbles before they break — and two wooden crates sit lower in the grid, hiding the marbles stacked underneath them. Until the locks and crates come off, your reachable surface is a thin strip of exposed marbles.

What you can see at the start is a fair spread of colors: Red, Orange, Blue, Pink, Green, Cyan, Yellow, and Purple are all present in the grid, with a heavy Orange cluster spilling down one side and a pair of Yellows sitting side by side on the left. Brown is nowhere on the board itself — it waits in the spawn queue below, stacked in batches of three alongside Red, Green, and Orange groups. The queue also carries Cyan, Pink, Blue, and Yellow tiles ready to feed in as you play.

The level is won by unlocking, not by speed. Each lock you break reveals new marbles and widens the playable area, while the queue keeps the board topped up from below. Play the visible colors, spend pairs on the numbered locks, and let the crates come apart on their own schedule.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 338

The board is rigged to make you dump everything onto the belt the moment it is revealed. Here is the layout:

  • Numbered “2” lock tiles cap the top of the tray: each one needs two matching marbles to break, so every pair you spend on a lock is a pair that cannot be feeding a clear path elsewhere. Greedy plays stall the moment the second lock demands attention.
  • Two wooden crates bury real colors: a Pink and a Red sit directly underneath the crates in the opening frame. They are useful, but you cannot touch them until the crate above is cleared.
  • Brown stacks ride the queue with no home: Brown appears only in the spawn queue, in two batches of three, and no visible board slot asks for it early. Tap it in and the belt jams.
  • The heavy Orange cluster looks urgent but isn’t: a large Orange group sits exposed on the right side of the grid. It clears fine later — feeding it before the locks are down only crowds the belt.

The board wants you to clear everything you can see. Do that and the queue backs up before the locks are gone. Instead, treat the crates and the Brown stacks as off-limits until the grid opens up.

Marble Sort Level 338 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Unlock before you commit. Follow the release order.

Opening: work the exposed strip

Marble Sort level 338 mid-solve board

  1. Feed the exposed single marbles that match obvious targets first — the Cyan, Yellow, Pink, and Blue sitting in the open rows are your safest early taps.
  2. Pick up the pair of Yellows on the left side of the board when the queue feeds more Yellow; matching pairs clear fast and buy room.
  3. Start breaking the numbered “2” locks: spend the two matching marbles a lock asks for as soon as the pair is reachable. The first lock to go usually exposes a column of new marbles behind it.
  4. Do not commit the Orange cluster yet — it is big, but its payoff comes after the locks open the rest of the grid.
  5. Leave the Brown batches in the queue alone. They only become playable when the board actually asks for Brown.
  6. As each lock breaks, re-read the newly revealed rows before your next tap — the revealed colors decide what the midgame will look like.

Midgame: strip the crates and the columns

By the middle of the solve the first locks are gone and the remaining numbered locks sit higher on the right side of the tray. The wooden crates have started to come apart, exposing the Pink and Red marbles they were hiding, and the board settles into a few tall columns of work.

  1. Clear the crate-adjacent marbles first — the Pink and Red that were buried underneath are now safe to feed.
  2. Break the remaining “2” locks with their matching pairs; the board thins out noticeably once the second row of locks drops.
  3. Feed the Purple marbles as they cluster — the midgame frame shows a long Purple run clearing through the transport pipe, so keep that color moving whenever its target is open.
  4. Work each remaining column top-down, matching the revealed marble against the colors the board is still asking for.
  5. Only tap a queue tile whose color has an active target — the Green and Red groups in the queue are fine, but Brown stays parked until the late game.
  6. Keep an eye on the lower rows: singles like Cyan and Blue scattered near the bottom are easy cleanups that free the grid for the finish.

Cleanup: empty the last rows

The end frame shows the level nearly solved — the grid is down to a handful of blocks, the last locks read “0” and “1” as they finish breaking, and only Yellow and Pink marbles are still cycling through the bottom pool.

  1. Play to the remaining colors only — Yellow and Pink are the last ones in motion, so feed them as they surface.
  2. Let the final locks finish on their own; a lock reading “0” or “1” needs only one more matching pair and clears the last blocks.
  3. Do not start new colors this late. If the queue cycles a color the grid no longer asks for, let it pass.
  4. Keep feeding the last singles until the tray empties — the level completes the moment the final marble lands.

Level 338 Tips Recap

  • Break the numbered “2” lock tiles with matched pairs before chasing big clusters — the locks decide how much of the grid you get to play.
  • Brown sits in the queue from the start but has no home on the board; leave it parked until the late game.
  • The crate-buried Pink and Red are your midgame targets — free them the moment their crates come apart.
  • In the endgame only Yellow and Pink remain in motion; feed them and let the last locks finish themselves.
