Marble Sort Level 196 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 196 Board Overview: The Locked-Center Grid

Level 196 switches from plain trays to the scored grid: a field of colored target cells for Pink, Purple, Cyan, Green, Dark Blue, and Red, with special blocks mixed into the middle band. A green x2 multiplier block sits left of center, and a cluster of six locked cells — arranged like a cross through the middle of the board — seals off the grid until you break them with the hammer.
Below the grid, four storage tubes feed marbles up through a queue. The opening tubes are stacked with Pink on top, followed by Purple, Cyan, and Dark Blue, while Green and more Cyan ride deeper in the same tubes. The queue is already carrying a long string of Light Blue and Blue marbles when the level starts, so the front of the board decides everything.
The boost bar keeps the pressure on: a Magnet with three charges, a single Hammer for the locked cells, and scissors plus a bubble booster as backup. With 6,800 coins on the counter, the level wants you to play clean and score through the multiplier rather than brute-force the queue.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 196
The board is rigged to make you feed the queue blind. Here is what to watch for:
- The six locked cells in the center: they sit right in the middle of the grid in a cross shape, hiding whatever colors wait behind them. Until the hammer clears them, the middle of the board is dead space.
- The pre-loaded queue: the opening queue is already full of Light Blue and Blue. Adding more of those colors before their cells are lit just jams the line and stalls every tube behind it.
- The solid red blocks on the left: two filled red blocks flank the left edge. Treat them as scenery — there is nothing to sort into them until the cells around them open.
- The mystery ”?” cell: one cell hides its requirement. Committing marbles next to it early is a gamble, because its reveal can change which colors you actually need.
- The x2 multiplier: it doubles the score of whatever lands in it, which makes it tempting — but burning your best tube colors on it in the opening starves the front row.
Marble Sort Level 196 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
The level rewards patience over speed. Follow the release order.
Opening: clear the top row first

- Start with the Pink cells in the top of the grid — three of the four tubes open with a Pink on top, so the first three taps are nearly free.
- Send the Purple that surfaces right after into the Purple cell sitting beside the Pinks in the upper grid.
- Clear the Cyan targets next, using the Light Blue marbles riding just under the Pinks in the same tubes.
- Let the queue drain before feeding more Dark Blue — the pre-loaded line already has plenty, and there are Dark Blue cells waiting further down the grid.
- Skip the solid red blocks on the left entirely for now.
Midgame: break the center open
Once the top row empties, the lock cluster becomes the whole level.
- When the hammer is ready, use it on the six locked cells in the center cross. This is the single highest-value move on the board.
- Route the next matching marble into the x2 multiplier cell — time it for a color that still appears several times, so the double counts as much as possible.
- Feed the colors revealed behind the locks as they surface from the tubes, always matching a tube’s top marble to a lit, unlocked cell.
- Do not touch the mystery ”?” cell yet. Keep it isolated until the board is nearly empty.
Cleanup: drain the tubes and finish
With the center open, the remaining work is pure tube cycling.
- Work the tubes left to right, sending each top marble only when a matching cell is lit. A stalled top marble means the cell for its color is not ready — leave it alone.
- When two tubes show the same color on top, feed them back to back to keep the queue short.
- Use the Magnet with one of its three charges to pull the last few stragglers into place once the board thins out.
- Finish the remaining Green and Red cells in the lower grid — as they fill, the last cells pull the queue dry on their own.
- Only now, if the ”?” cell is still standing, reveal it and feed whatever color it asks for with the marbles you held back.

Level 196 Tips Recap
- Clear the top-row Pink and Purple cells first — the opening tubes hand you those colors for free.
- Save the hammer for the six-cell lock cluster in the center; that is where the board actually opens up.
- Never tap a tube just to move marbles. Only feed a color whose cell is lit and unlocked.
- Hold the x2 multiplier for a color that appears several times, and treat the mystery ”?” cell as a last-resort reveal.
