Marble Sort Level 408 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 408 Board Overview: The Locked Tile Grid

Level 408 opens as a dense board, and the first thing you notice is how much of it you cannot read at a glance. This is the tile-grid variant of Marble Sort: colored marbles sit in square slots across the board rather than in straight tube columns, and a chunk of the opening grid is hidden from you. Grey ’?’ mystery tiles cap the top row and run through the middle of the tray, while a few slots sit permanently locked until you clear the tiles around them.
The colors that are actually reachable at the start are few. The top receiver Boxes ask for an honest, small set — Red, Green, and Pink — and those are the only safe targets on the opening board. Underneath, the playfield slots hold a mix of Light Green, Orange, Yellow, Dark Blue, and Brown layered around Red, Light Blue, and Pink that the Boxes genuinely want. On both sides of the grid sit blue-bordered containers holding a handful of marbles each, waiting to be freed once you sort into their positions.
The belt below tells the same story as the grid. The conveyor is already loaded in front with Red and Green riding together, and the queue behind it is carrying the same palette the grid hides. Nothing about the opening board is a straight line — reveal the mystery tiles, feed the open colors, and let the Boxes rotate toward everything you just freed.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 408
The board is rigged to make you reveal faster than you can sort. Here is the layout:
- Mystery ’?’ tiles hide half the grid: the top row and parts of the middle are covered, so you cannot plan the board until you tap them. Every early reveal is a gamble.
- Most of the visible colors have no Box yet: Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Dark Blue, and Brown are parked in the grid with no receiver waiting. Feed them early and the conveyor jams before the opening clears.
- Blue-bordered side containers block their own colors: the marbles inside each container stay out of play until you fill the matching slots, which costs space you do not have at the start.
- Some slots are locked outright: a fixed set of slots stays closed until the surrounding tiles clear, forcing you to drain columns in the right order instead of tapping freely.
Marble Sort Level 408 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Reveal the board before you commit to it. Follow the release order.
Opening: feed the visible colors

- Tap the Red, Green, and Pink marbles that are fully exposed into their receiver Boxes. These are the only completely safe drops on the opening grid.
- Do not touch the Orange, Yellow, Dark Blue, Light Green, or Brown until a matching Box cycles into the front row.
- Start peeling the mystery ’?’ tiles off the top row. If the reveal matches an open Box, drop it; if not, leave that slot and come back.
- Keep the conveyor fed with the open colors only. The Red and Green sitting at the front of the belt are safe, but only tap a queued marble whose color has an open Box.
- Work the top slots down one at a time so the receiver colors underneath come free in runs.
Midgame: unlock the containers and the locked slots
Once the early Red, Green, and Pink Boxes clear, the tray thins out and the front row cycles toward the colors the grid was hiding. Use that window to open the board properly.
- Feed the second wave of colors as their Boxes arrive, clearing the Orange, Yellow, and Light Green that ride near the top of the stacks.
- Tackle the blue-bordered side containers the moment their colors have a home — freeing them drops several marbles into play at once and opens the edges of the grid.
- Drain the locked slots by clearing the columns that lead into them; each one that opens exposes more marbles you can actually sort.
- Prioritize any column that exposes two matching marbles in a row — clearing it empties a slot and opens space for the conveyor.
Cleanup: drain the stragglers
With the grid nearly empty, the level becomes a straight finishing line. The end frame shows the tray stripped down to a few scattered stacks and singles, with the receivers still taking their final marbles and the belt running the last of the palette.
- Every remaining marble is a single waiting for its Box to slide to the front — play only to the active front row.
- Let the queue cycle: the last Red, Greens, Pinks, and whatever else is left feed as their Boxes open. Do not chase colors whose receivers have already closed.
- Finish the final Boxes as the stragglers drop and let the tray empty. The level completes the moment the last marble lands.

Level 408 Tips Recap
- Reveal before you commit: mystery ’?’ tiles cover the top row and middle of the grid, so never plan a combo on colors you cannot see.
- Only feed colors with an open Box — Red, Green, and Pink open the level; Orange, Yellow, Dark Blue, and Brown are bait until their receivers cycle forward.
- Free the blue-bordered containers and locked slots only after their colors have a home, so they open instead of jamming the belt.
- In the endgame the grid is nearly empty; just cycle the conveyor and feed the last marbles into their Boxes.
