Marble Sort Level 422 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 422 Board Overview: The Mystery-Capped Tray

Level 422 is a hard board that hides nearly everything it asks you to sort. The play area is a tray of five tall block columns that drop through a funnel at the bottom, where the receiver slots queue the colors you are allowed to feed. At the start, grey ’?’ mystery tiles cap most of the columns, and arrow-marked tiles sit on top of several of the visible stacks, so more than half the opening board is unreadable.
What you can see is honest but small. The visible cells across the five columns show solid Red, Purple, Yellow, Light Blue, Green, White, and pink-family blocks, but no column runs clean — every stack is a mix, and the colors underneath the mystery tiles are guesses until you reveal them. The center column is the tallest, and the two middle columns carry the Yellow blocks you can actually count on early.
The conveyor below the funnel opens with Pink and Yellow blocks already at the front of the belt, and the funnel is already streaming Pink tiles when the board appears — Pink is the level’s first safe color. The trick is that the tray’s real stock of Red, Purple, Green, and the blues sits buried under sealed cells, so you have to reveal the grid before you can plan a run.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 422
The board is rigged to make you commit to colors you cannot finish. Here is the layout:
- Mystery ’?’ tiles cap nearly every column: the tops of all five stacks start sealed, so a big chunk of the tray is unreadable on the first frame. Every reveal is a gamble until you have peeled them.
- Arrow-marked tiles ride the stack tops: grey, purple, and white arrow tiles sit above several visible blocks. They are not loose colors you can drop — they cap the playable tiles and have to be cleared before what is underneath is reachable.
- No column is a clean run: Red, Purple, Yellow, Light Blue, Green, White, and the pinks are all mixed across the five stacks, so there is no single-color column to strip for easy early feeds.
- The visible conveyor only advertises two colors: Pink and Yellow ride the front of the belt at the start. Everything else you might want to feed is still sealed, and feeding a color whose receiver slot is not live jams the funnel.
Marble Sort Level 422 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Reveal before you commit. Follow the release order and the tray falls apart.
Opening: play Pink and Yellow, peel the seals

- Drop the Pink blocks from the front of the conveyor into the funnel as they arrive — the opening frame already shows Pink streaming through, so its receiver slot stays live from the first tap.
- Feed the Yellow blocks queued right behind the Pinks the same way; Yellow also sits exposed in the middle columns, ready for a slot the moment one cycles forward.
- Leave Red, Purple, Green, White, and the blues alone for now — none of them are running on the belt yet, and parking them on the conveyor jams the funnel.
- Start peeling the ’?’ mystery tiles off the column tops one at a time. If a reveal matches a color whose slot is live, drop it immediately; if not, leave it on the grid and move to the next column.
- Clear the arrow-marked tiles that cap the visible stacks as soon as the blocks beneath them are worth reaching — they unlock whole column segments in a single move.
- Keep the feed restricted to Pink and Yellow plus whatever reveals match a live slot, and let the tray cycle toward the colors you are holding back.
Midgame: empty the columns
Once the early Pink and Yellow feeds clear, the sealed part of the tray becomes the whole game. The recorded run shows the second column from the left emptying first, and by the middle frame the fifth column is gone as well — the board is more than half cleared, and the conveyor is now running in tight same-color batches.
- Work each column top-down as its reveals come out, feeding every revealed tile whose color has a live slot before moving to the next stack.
- Mirror the run’s column order: finish the stacks whose exposed colors match the active slots first, and a column empties entirely — cleared columns stay empty and open the tray.
- Take the conveyor in its batches: when the belt runs a block of one color, ride it into the matching receiver in one pass to clear queue space fast.
- Watch the remaining colors in the tray — a lone Royal Blue still waits in the fourth column, and the lower receiver stack is delivering the purple and pale-blue family as the run closes in on them.
- Whenever a column thins to its bottom tiles, the mystery and arrow caps on the other stacks are usually hiding exactly what the tray asks for next — reveal them ahead of the feed, not behind it.
Cleanup: feed the stragglers
With the tray nearly empty, the level becomes a straight finishing line. The end frame shows the grid fully cleared under a confetti victory screen, with the conveyor down to a single dark-red block on its left end — every last tile found a slot.
- Every remaining block is a single waiting for its slot to slide to the front — play only to the active receiver from here.
- Let the belt cycle the final colors in: as each live slot reaches the front, the matching single drops through the funnel and the column count hits zero.
- Clear the last mystery reveals and finish the final receiver. The level completes the moment the final tile lands — the run ends on a completely empty board.

Level 422 Tips Recap
- Reveal before you commit: ’?’ mystery tiles seal most of the opening tray, so never plan a run on colors you cannot see yet.
- Only feed colors with a live slot — Pink and Yellow open the level; Red, Purple, Green, White, and the blues are waiting until their receivers cycle in.
- Treat the arrow-marked tiles as caps: clearing them unlocks whole column segments and is always worth a move.
- In the endgame the tray is nearly empty; just cycle the belt and feed the last singles into their closing slots until the board is completely clear.
