Marble Sort Level 389 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 389 Board Overview: The Sealed Left Corner

Marble Sort level 389 opening board — The Sealed Left Corner

Level 389 opens on a wide grid of free cells, and the first thing you notice is what you cannot touch: the left corner is bolted shut under a riveted metal plate with a circled “13” counter stamped on it. That plate never lifts during the solve — the cells beneath it stay greyed out all the way to the end frame — so the whole opening is played on the open right and center of the grid.

The real goal sits along the right edge: a row of vertical collection slots asking for the Blue and Green families. Most of them start capped by grey countdown blocks marked “2” or “3” — a marked slot only pays out once its number drains to zero, one tick per matching marble you land. Below the grid, a conveyor feeds runs of ready marbles, and the bottom tray holds four stacked columns that cycle up onto the belt.

Here is the imbalance: the tray and belt are almost all Orange. Every one of the four tray columns is stacked with Orange, with Reds, Purples, and Greens mixed through them. Yet the slots that are actually open at the start want Blue and Light Green — so the board hands you a wall of Orange and asks you to ignore it while you scrape up every Blue and Green you can reach.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 389

The board is rigged to make you feed the wrong colors. Here is the layout:

  • The plate owns the left corner: the riveted plate with the circled “13” seals a whole zone of the grid, and those cells stay locked in the end frame. Do not waste moves probing an area that never opens.
  • Orange is everywhere and wanted nowhere: the tray columns are stacked Orange-on-Orange, but no Orange slot is live at the start. Feed it early and the belt jams before the opening Blue and Green work clears.
  • Purple, Yellow, Cyan, and Pink ride the tray bottoms: deep Purple, Yellow, and Cyan sit at the base of the columns with no collection slot open for them. They are bait — admire them, do not tap them.
  • The grey countdown blocks stall you: a slot under a “2” or “3” marker needs that many matching placements before it banks, and the heavier “3” block on the Green slot is the slowest payout on the board.

The board wants you to empty the Orange columns first because they are the most visible. Do that and you bury your conveyor under a color with nowhere to go.

Marble Sort Level 389 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Work the open slots first, then let the countdown markers decide the pace. Follow the release order.

Opening: feed Blue and Green only

Marble Sort level 389 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the first Blue marble on the conveyor straight into the open Blue slot on the right edge. It is the only unmarked slot you can bank immediately.
  2. Follow the conveyor’s Green run into the Green slots — matching marbles tick a marked slot’s counter down one each.
  3. Scrape the Light Green off the top of the bottom tray columns whenever the belt cycles it forward, and keep feeding the Green family.
  4. Land every Blue you can reach in the grid and on the belt into the Blue slots before touching anything else.
  5. Do not tap the Orange, Purple, Yellow, Cyan, or Pink runs yet — none of those slots are live, and every one you lift just parks a dead marble on the belt.

Midgame: crack the Orange wall

Once the early Blue and Green slots fill, the grid gets crowded fast. The top-left and center-right of the play area clog with tall Red and Orange clusters, and the collection slots begin to cycle toward the colors that have been waiting — Orange, Red, and Pink finally open up as the countdown markers hit zero.

  1. Now feed Orange in runs: the tray columns are stacked with it, so tap the belt as it cycles Orange forward and drain the counters two and three at a time.
  2. Work the Red clusters down one marble at a time and land Reds as their slots open on the right.
  3. Clear the center column of the grid early — it is the drop lane that feeds the whole play area, and the Blue and Orange clusters choking it stall every later placement.
  4. When a marked slot’s counter reaches zero, it unlocks for good; prioritize draining the “2” markers before the slow “3” Green block.
  5. Keep the belt moving in matching runs — feed the mixed Pink, Yellow, and Purple queue segments only when their matching slot is actually live in the front of the cycle.

Cleanup: drain the counters to zero

The end frame shows the grid nearly empty: a handful of fully stocked stacks — Orange, Green, Light Green, Blue, Light Blue, and Pink — sitting in their slots with their countdown markers reading zero. Only a few loose runs of Pink, Light Blue, and Purple are left on the bottom tray, and the left plate corner is still sealed.

  1. Play only to the active slots from here — every remaining marble is a single waiting for its slot to cycle to the front.
  2. Let the last Light Blue and Purple runs drop into their slots as they open; their stacks are already marked complete at zero, so these final placements finish the level.
  3. Do not chase colors whose slots have already closed. The circled “13” counter on the plate ticks down with every banked marble, and the level completes the moment the last live slot fills.

Level 389 Tips Recap

  • The left corner never opens — the riveted plate and its “13” counter seal it for the whole level, so play the open right and center only.
  • Blue and the Green family are the only safe feeds in the opening; Orange, Purple, Yellow, Cyan, and Pink are bait until their slots cycle live.
  • The grey countdown blocks pace the level: a slot under a “2” or “3” needs that many matching placements before it banks, so drain the small numbers first.
  • In the endgame the grid is nearly empty and the counters read zero — cycle the belt and feed the last singles into their open slots.
