Marble Sort Level 420 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 420 Board Overview: The Crate-Sealed Grid

Marble Sort level 420 opening board — The Crate-Sealed Grid

Marble Sort Level 420 is a Very Hard run of the tile-grid variant: colored tiles stack up in tall grid columns, drop through a grey funnel at the base of the board, ride a conveyor belt, and finish inside the receiver boxes below. The opening field is packed from edge to edge, and a good part of what it holds is deliberately hidden from you.

What the opening does show is a clean set of targets. Two Green receivers sit in the bottom row — the front one is already catching tiles the moment the level starts — with Red, Yellow, and Blue boxes open alongside them. The visible colored tiles match those receivers in part: Green near the lower-left of the grid, a pair of Blues left of center, Yellow at the top-left corner and again lower in the middle columns, and a Teal parked at the top-right corner.

Everything else on the board is a question mark. Mystery ”?” tiles blanket the upper rows of the grid, numbered “2” and “3” tiles ride several column tops, and two wooden crates are planted in the middle columns near the top of the field, sealing whatever waits behind them. A band of Magenta, Purple, Orange, Light Brown, and Cyan tiles sits exposed across the middle rows — none of which have a receiver yet. This is a reveal-and-match puzzle layered on top of the sorting, and the crates and mystery tiles have to be peeled away before the grid can really drain.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 420

The board is rigged to make you release faster than the belt can carry. Here is the layout:

  • Mystery ”?” tiles cap most of the columns: the upper rows of the grid are unreadable at the start. Tap a ”?” tile with no room on the belt and you gamble on whatever it hides.
  • Two wooden crates seal the middle columns: the crates sit near the top of the field and block the columns beneath them. Those stacks cannot drain until the crates are cleared, so the center of the board is off-limits for the opening.
  • Numbered “2” and “3” tiles are multi-marble drops: a numbered tile pays several marbles into a single receiver when it lands. Drop one while its color has no live box and the conveyor jams on a batch it cannot deliver.
  • The exposed middle band is all bait: Magenta, Purple, Orange, Light Brown, and Cyan sit in full view, but none of them have a receiver in the opening row. Release them early and you park junk on the belt for no reason.
  • Grey locked tiles sit at the column bases: the bottom cells of several columns are locked grey blocks that cannot move until the stacks above them drain, gating the endgame.

Marble Sort Level 420 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Sort the revealed colors before you commit to the hidden ones, and never release faster than the belt can drain. Follow the release order.

Opening: feed the live boxes

  1. Make Green your first color — a Green receiver is already part-filled when the level starts, so every Green tile you release has a home from the first drop.
  2. Keep feeding Green until both Green receivers are moving; two boxes take the color twice as fast and free up belt space early.
  3. Drop the Yellow tiles next. The Yellow receiver is open, and the grid shows Yellow at the top-left corner plus more of it lower down the middle columns.
  4. Match the Blues into their receiver once the visible Blue tiles are in reach; they sit left of center, close to the funnel.
  5. Do not touch the exposed middle band yet — Magenta, Purple, Orange, Light Brown, and Cyan have no box in the opening row, so leave them on the grid.
  6. Start peeling the ”?” tiles off the column tops one at a time, but only drop a reveal when its color matches a live box. If it does not match, leave the column and come back to it.

Midgame: reveal the center and unlock the crates

By the middle of the solve the board has thinned out and the receivers have cycled. The mid-game view shows Green, Blue, and Yellow boxes complete, the belt running Pink and Green tiles, and the remaining receivers taking Red and Pink.

  1. Switch your attention to Red — its receiver is live mid-run, so release the Reds that sit under the remaining ”?” tiles in the center columns as soon as they clear the funnel.
  2. Pink is the other live color: the far-right column is stacked with Pink over Green tiles, so work that column down and feed the Pink receiver as it opens.
  3. Bank the numbered “3” tile still riding a middle column into whichever box is front and center — a single numbered tile settles several marbles at once and clears a stack in one pass.
  4. Reveal the center columns’ ”?” tiles one release at a time. Never drop two reveals back to back: the funnel is the only path to the belt, and a double release turns into a jam.
  5. Leave the columns whose bases sit on grey locked tiles for the endgame — those locks cannot be cleared until the stacks above them drain, so do not waste belt space fighting them now.

Cleanup: drain the tray

The closing frame shows the board nearly emptied: the grid is stripped down to a handful of stray tiles scattered across the columns, the bases still holding their grey locks, and the final receiver stacks still taking drops.

  1. Play only to the active receivers from here — every remaining tile is waiting for its color to cycle to the front of the row.
  2. Let the belt finish the work: the last Greens, Blues, Reds, and Pinks feed as their boxes open, and the numbered tile already banked does the heavy lifting.
  3. Drop the final stragglers one at a time and let the receivers pull the tray empty. The level completes the moment the last tile lands in its box.

Level 420 Tips Recap

  • Reveal before you commit: mystery ”?” tiles hide the upper grid, so never plan a combo around a color you cannot see.
  • Only feed colors with an open receiver — Green, Yellow, and Blue open the level; Magenta, Purple, Orange, Light Brown, and Cyan are bait until their boxes cycle in.
  • Bank the numbered “2” and “3” tiles against the front receiver — each one pays several marbles in a single drop.
  • Leave the crate-sealed center and the base-locked columns for the endgame; rushing them jams the belt before the grid can drain.
