Marble Sort Level 257 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 257 Board Overview: The Chained Center

Level 257 drops you into a Hard board with a lock right where you least want one. A thick chain with a padlock runs across the lower center of the grid, sealing the middle of the playfield until you break it. Around it, grey ’?’ mystery tiles blanket several tiles, a wooden crate with an X pattern squats on the right side of the grid, and scattered ice covers a few of the visible tiles. Half the board is a question mark when you start.
What you can see at the bottom is honest. The front row of receiver Boxes asks for four colors, left to right: Cyan, Lime Green, Hot Pink, and White. That is your entire opening target list. The Top Tray above the grid holds the real inventory — the left half stacks Green, Pink, and Cyan on top of a base of Dark Blue and Orange, and the right side shows Orange with a pair of Yellow marbles riding above it.
Nothing else on the board matches the opening Boxes. The Dark Blues, Oranges, and Yellows in the tray have no receiver yet, which means the level is designed to punish greedy taps from the first move.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 257
The board wants you to pull everything within reach and jam the belt. Here is the layout:
- The center is chained and locked: a chain with a padlock covers the lower middle of the grid, so you cannot route marbles through the heart of the board until the lock clears.
- ’?’ mystery tiles hide the top tiles: roughly seven grey mystery tiles cap tiles around the grid. You cannot plan a column until you reveal it, and a reveal may not match any open Box.
- The wooden crate blocks the right side: an X-marked crate sits on the right edge, killing a whole line of drop paths early.
- Only Cyan, Lime Green, Hot Pink, and White have Boxes at the start: the tray is stacked with Orange, Dark Blue, and Yellow from the opening — feed those first and the belt jams before the front row fills.
- Ice covers some visible tiles: frozen tiles add one more layer of guesswork about what sits underneath.
Marble Sort Level 257 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Release in the order the Boxes actually want. Follow the phases.
Opening: feed only the four open Boxes

- Tap the Cyan marble in the Top Tray straight into the Cyan Box in the front row.
- Drop the Lime Green marbles into the Green Box — they sit together in the left half of the tray, so they arrive in a quick run.
- Feed the Hot Pink marbles into the Pink Box next; the Pinks ride on top of the left stack, right where you can reach them.
- Clear the White Box using the white marble in the front row’s fourth slot.
- Do not touch the Orange, Dark Blue, or Yellow marbles yet — none of them has a Box, and each one you move is belt space you cannot afford.
- Start peeling the ’?’ mystery tiles off the grid. If a reveal matches Cyan, Green, Pink, or White, drop it; if it matches anything else, leave the column and move on.
- Keep the conveyor fed with the four open colors only, and let the front row of Boxes finish before you commit to anything buried deeper.
Midgame: unlock the chain and cycle the rows
With the opening Boxes clearing, the front row cycles and the chain unlock finally opens the center. The new rows start asking for Pink, White, and Blue in threes — the midgame color set — while the conveyor above the Boxes starts running batches of Pink, Purple, Green, Blue, Red, and White.
- Break the chain lock as soon as the midgame opens up — the center drop paths are worth more than the tiles they hide.
- Feed the Blue Boxes as they appear; the Dark Blues buried at the base of the left tray stack finally have a home and arrive in runs.
- Keep Pink and White flowing — the second row of Boxes wants three of each, so scrape up every Pink and White the reveals expose.
- Treat the Red and Purple that spill out of the grid as bait until a Box asks for them. A lone Purple parked on the belt will block everything behind it.
- Work the right side around the crate; once the crate frees, the Yellow and Orange waiting on that side finally have somewhere to go.
- By the time the tray thins to singles, only a few stragglers remain — a Purple on the left, a White center-left, Yellow and Orange at the bottom center, and a Green in the corner. Play each one to its own Box as the rows cycle.
Cleanup: let the stragglers finish
The video’s final frame catches the solve still running — no victory screen, just the board winding down. The remaining Boxes ask for Pink, Teal, and Yellow, while the belt carries the last Whites, Reds, Blues, and Purples with a stream of Yellow and Purple still feeding in from above.
- Play only to the active front row from here — every tap must match a Box that is actually open.
- Let the Yellow stream finish the Yellow Box; it arrives in a dense run, so it clears fast.
- Cycle the belt to feed the last Purples, Whites, Reds, and Blues as their Boxes slide forward, and let the final Teal fill complete the level.

Level 257 Tips Recap
- The chain lock seals the center at the start — route around it until the midgame unlock opens the middle of the board.
- Only Cyan, Lime Green, Hot Pink, and White have Boxes on the opening row; Orange, Dark Blue, and Yellow are bait until the rows cycle.
- Reveal ’?’ tiles one column at a time and only keep what matches an open Box.
- In the endgame, the board empties to singles — feed only the front row and let the Yellow run finish the last Box.
