Marble Sort Level 402 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 402 Board Overview: Mystery-Sealed Left Side

Marble Sort level 402 opening board — Mystery-Sealed Left Side

Level 402 uses the launcher grid variant: marbles fire up from the track at the bottom of the screen into a stacked block grid, and the receivers waiting along the bottom collect each color as it falls. The board is not symmetrical — the right side of the grid is wide open while the left side is barely playable.

The entire left half of the grid starts hidden under grey mystery ’?’ tiles. Three columns of the puzzle are sealed behind them, so every early plan has to ignore roughly a third of the board. On the visible right side, the field is built from Green, Purple, Red, and Blue tiles, with a couple of grey numbered lock blocks sitting in the field waiting to count down.

The bottom receivers tell you the actual goal. Orange and Green bins are already full, while empty Brown, Brown, Purple, and Red bins are open and asking for tiles. The leftmost receivers are still locked ’?’ bins — they only become useful later. The launcher track below them is queued with Orange, Green, Purple, and Blue marbles, a preview of the colors about to enter play.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 402

The level is rigged to punish players who try to clear the left side of the board early. Here is the layout:

  • The left columns are sealed under mystery ’?’ tiles: the reveals sit behind lock blocks, so you cannot see what is buried there until the midgame. Chasing those columns early wastes shots on tiles you cannot plan around.
  • Numbered lock blocks tick down in the field: grey blocks marked ‘2’ and ‘3’ start locked among the colored tiles. Each one needs to be worn down before it releases, so treat them as delayed tiles rather than quick wins.
  • Orange and Green bins start full: with their receivers already closed, any extra Orange or Green you reveal has nowhere to go until the bins cycle.
  • Locked ’?’ receiver bins wait on the left: the mystery bins at the bottom are not open at the start, so the left side of the tray has no real target until later.

Marble Sort Level 402 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Clear what you can see before you gamble on what you cannot. Follow the release order.

Opening: feed the open right side

Marble Sort level 402 mid-solve board

  1. Start with the tiles you can see on the right side of the grid — Green, Purple, Red, and Blue all have somewhere to land.
  2. Feed the empty Brown bins first when Brown tiles come up the launcher track; the double Brown receiver clears fastest.
  3. Drop Purple into its open bin and Red into the empty Red receiver whenever they reach the front.
  4. Ignore the mystery ’?’ tiles on the left for now — no shot fired into that side pays off while the receivers for it are still locked.
  5. Chip at the numbered lock blocks only when a tile directly behind them is worth exposing. Do not commit whole runs to them yet.

Midgame: the locks start dropping

Once the visible colors are moving, the board opens up. The mystery columns begin to reveal, the numbered blocks count down — the mid-solve frame shows a ‘2’ lock still holding on the left while a ‘0’ block on the right is ready to retract — and a green crate block sits at the lower left of the grid waiting to be worked around.

  1. Bank the numbered blocks as they hit zero — a released block clears its column and often drops several tiles at once.
  2. Keep the empty mystery ’?’ bin on the left in mind; once its receiver unlocks, feed the colors the mystery tiles revealed.
  3. Let the Purple runs flow: the midgame feeds Purple in streaks, and the open Purple bins swallow them quickly.
  4. Route the launcher queue by the bins that are actually open — Blue, Orange, Brown, and the lighter tones all start filling in this phase.
  5. Leave the green crate block alone until the tiles around it are gone; it is a blocker, not a target.

Cleanup: finish the nearly-full bins

The end of the recording shows the level close to done but not finished. Most of the bottom bins hold four marbles and are sealed, the grid is down to a few empty cells in the center, and two grey lock blocks marked ‘0’ and ‘1’ are the last things standing. The launcher track is still running a long Green feed followed by Grey, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Orange.

  1. Play only to the receivers still open — the full bins are done, so stop feeding their colors.
  2. Knock the final numbered locks out as their tiles come into range; the last ‘0’ and ‘1’ blocks are the only obstacles left.
  3. Drop the remaining stragglers into their open bins and let the center cells empty. The level completes the moment the last lock releases.

Level 402 Tips Recap

  • Open the right side of the grid before touching the mystery-sealed left columns — the left receivers start locked, so early shots there cannot pay off.
  • Numbered lock blocks are delayed tiles: chip them down as they come into range, but never pour whole runs into them while open bins are waiting.
  • Orange and Green bins start full, so their colors are bait until the receivers cycle.
  • In the endgame the bins are nearly all full — finish the two remaining locks and feed only the last open receivers.
