Marble Sort Level 400 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 400 Board Overview: The Keyed Tile Grid

Marble Sort level 400 opening board — The Keyed Tile Grid

Marble Sort Level 400 is a Very Hard run of the tile-grid variant, and the recorded playthrough opens with Cherie Gaming’s channel bumper before the board itself appears. The play field is a dark grid of chunky colored blocks rather than a classic tray of single marbles, and only part of it is revealed at any moment.

The grid holds big 2×2 blocks in Green, Yellow, Red, and Purple, with grey ”?” mystery boxes scattered across the upper rows hiding whatever sits behind them. Along the bottom of the grid, a yellow rail carries a golden key — a lock bar that seals the lower cells until you clear the way to it. Everything that drops from the grid falls through a grey funnel at its base and lands on the conveyor belt.

The belt is already running in the mid-solve view: its lower row is one long Light Blue run, while Orange, White, Red, and Pink balls ride the row above. Below the belt, vertical receiver stacks cycle through Yellow, Green, Orange, Red, White, Purple, Blue, and Pink. Because every chunky block that falls from the grid breaks into several marbles at once, the whole level is an ordering problem: reveal, match, unlock, and drain.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 400

The board is rigged to make you release faster than the belt can carry. Here is the layout:

  • Mystery ”?” boxes blanket the grid: grey question-mark boxes sit over the upper rows, so a good chunk of the board is unreadable. Tap one with no belt room and you gamble on what falls out.
  • The golden key bar seals the lower grid: the key rides a yellow rail along the bottom of the field. The cells under that lock do not free up until you clear the rows above it, so the lock gates your endgame.
  • The funnel turns every drop into a flood: each 2×2 block releases several marbles in a single release. Feed a color with no open receiver stack and the conveyor jams before the queue drains.
  • The belt stock is deceptive: the Light Blue run looks like free progress, but it only helps when a Light Blue stack is actually taking balls — the same run stalls you the moment the receivers cycle away from it.

Marble Sort Level 400 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Sort the grid before you commit to it, and never release faster than the belt can drain. Follow the release order.

Opening: read the grid, play the belt

Marble Sort level 400 mid-solve board

The board appears mid-run with the conveyor already loaded, so the opening discipline is the same one the whole level rewards: only feed colors whose receiver stack is live.

  1. Take stock of the grid before tapping anything — note where the Green, Yellow, Red, and Purple blocks sit and which rows the mystery ”?” boxes cover.
  2. Feed the Light Blue run on the lower belt row in batches — it is the longest queue on the board, so clear it while a Light Blue stack is open.
  3. Match the Orange and White balls riding the upper belt row as they reach the front of the queue.
  4. Do not release a chunky 2×2 block from the grid yet — each one floods the belt with several marbles at once, and their stacks sit behind the current receivers.
  5. Leave the mystery ”?” boxes alone until the belt has at least two free slots; a reveal only helps if it can drop immediately.

Midgame: reveal the grid and free the key

Once the opening colors drain, the receiver stacks cycle and the grid work begins. The mid-solve view shows the board at exactly this stage: the belt is stocked, the receiver stacks are taking balls, and the puzzle is clearing the grid above.

  1. Start popping the mystery ”?” boxes one at a time. If the revealed color matches an open receiver stack, drop it; if not, leave the column and move on.
  2. Work the rows top-down so the 2×2 Green, Yellow, Red, and Purple blocks fall in a controlled order rather than tumbling together.
  3. Release a chunky block only when its receiver stack is front and center — a timed block clears a whole stack in one pass.
  4. Watch the funnel: never release a second block while the first is still falling through it. The funnel is the only path to the belt, and it turns a double release into a jam.
  5. Keep the Light Blue and Orange runs moving through the midgame — they are the colors the belt carries most, so they cycle back around to the front receivers.
  6. As the rows above clear, the golden key bar along the bottom of the grid comes into reach. Free the keyed cells and let the last lower-row blocks drop.

Cleanup: drain the grid to the reward screen

With the grid stripped down, the level becomes a straight finishing line. The run closes with the board fully drained and the victory screen: the reward chest pops with +75 coins and a Continue button, confirming the final receiver stack filled.

  1. Play only to the active receiver stacks from here — every remaining block is waiting for its color to cycle to the front.
  2. Let the funnel feed the last Light Blue, Orange, and White stragglers on their own; do not chase colors whose stacks have already filled.
  3. Drop the final 2×2 blocks as their stacks open, then let the last marbles roll off the belt. The level completes the moment the final receiver fills.

Level 400 Tips Recap

  • Reveal before you commit: mystery ”?” boxes hide half the grid, so never plan a combo around a color you cannot see.
  • The chunky 2×2 blocks pay several marbles in one drop — release them only when their receiver stack is live and the funnel is clear.
  • The Light Blue belt run is your rhythm: clear it in batches while it is wanted, and stop feeding it the instant the receivers cycle away.
  • Work the grid top-down so the golden key bar frees cleanly — the locked lower cells are your last objective, not your first.
