Marble Sort Level 517 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 517 Board Overview: The Locked Crate Grid

Level 517 is a late-game board that opens as a dense, two-part grid. The mid-solve frames show the upper half packed with colored crate tiles, grey ’?’ mystery tiles, and a numbered blue marker stamped “3”, while a yellow key tile sits paired with the yellow locking bars that seal several columns. A large purple-and-white locked container anchors the center of the grid, and a grey funnel routes tiles from the belt into the storage below.
The receivers across the top ask for colors in a cycling order — the frames show White, Orange, Red, Pink, and Yellow rotating through the front row. Above the board, the conveyor feeds the grid in tight color clusters: the opening queue rides Cyan, Lime, and Red, and by the midgame it is running Orange, Red, and Yellow batches. Everything the belt delivers lands somewhere specific, so the queue order decides how the solve flows.
The lower storage columns are where the real work happens. They start roughly 70% full and grow toward 80–90% as the solve progresses, with solid clusters like a full red column and stacked greens and cyans. The endgame shows the grid stripped nearly empty and the belt carrying the last triple clusters — Pink and Purple in runs of three — into a row of bottom receivers.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 517
The board punishes you for clearing before you unlock. Here is the layout:
- Locked columns wait on keys: yellow key tiles pair with yellow locking bars, and the crates behind those bars cannot be touched until the matching key drops. Clear elsewhere first and the lock holds the column hostage.
- Mystery ’?’ tiles hide the crate colors: grey ’?’ tiles cap parts of the grid, so you cannot plan a combo around a crate you have not revealed.
- Numbered markers drop in bulk: the blue “3” marker counts as several tiles in one tap, so it is worth far more than the single tile it reveals underneath.
- The center container is the real bottleneck: the purple-and-white locked container sits in the middle of the grid and only opens once the surrounding locks clear, holding the board together until you free it.
Marble Sort Level 517 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Unlock before you clear, and let the conveyor set the pace. Follow the release order.
Opening: feed the queue, reveal the crates

- Feed the conveyor’s open colors first — Cyan, Lime, and Red arrive at the front of the opening queue, so tap them into the receivers as the front row asks for them.
- Bank the numbered “3” marker as soon as a matching receiver sits in the front row — each tap clears several tiles at once.
- Peel the ’?’ mystery tiles off the crate columns. If the reveal matches an open receiver, drop it; if not, leave the column and come back after the row cycles.
- Collect the yellow key tiles as they surface and drop them into the yellow locking bars to unlock their columns — this is the only way the sealed crates become playable.
- Do not park crate colors on the belt when no receiver is open; keep the queue moving so the next matching batch can arrive.
Midgame: unlock the center and clear the runs
By the middle of the solve the columns are packed to 80–90% and the receivers are cycling White, Orange, Red, and Pink. The board now wants you to work whole columns, not single tiles.
- Work the locked container at the grid center: as the surrounding locks clear, its crates finally release, and the tiles beneath become reachable.
- Clear solid color runs in one pass — the full red column and the stacked greens and cyans collapse quickly once their receivers are front and center.
- Route the belt’s batches through the grey funnel instead of dropping them loose; the funnel feeds clusters straight into the matching columns.
- Keep feeding the queue in its color groups — Orange, Red, and Yellow ride the mid-game belt in batches, so a full group finishes a receiver in a single pass.
- Prioritize columns that expose two matching crates in a row; emptying one column opens space for the rest of the grid.
Cleanup: cycle the last clusters
With the grid nearly empty, the level becomes a straight finishing line. The end frames show the upper grid mostly clear, the belt carrying tight triples — Pink, Pink, Pink then Purple, Purple, Purple — and the bottom receivers finishing their final colors.
- Play the belt’s triple clusters as complete groups; each run of three feeds one receiver and empties queue space fast.
- Match the bottom receivers one column at a time — Red, Green, Blue, Light Green, Pink, and the rest — and let the final marbles slide through the funnel as their columns open.
- Finish the last receivers as the stragglers drop and let the grid empty. The level completes the moment the final tile lands.

Level 517 Tips Recap
- Unlock before you clear: sealed columns and the center container stay blocked until their yellow keys drop.
- Reveal mystery ’?’ tiles only when a matching receiver is front and center — never commit to colors you cannot see.
- Bank the numbered “3” marker early; it pays several tiles into whichever receiver is active.
- In the endgame the belt runs tight triples, so feed whole clusters and finish the bottom receivers one column at a time.
