Marble Sort Level 397 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 397 Board Overview: Wilds, Mystery, and a Pusher

Marble Sort level 397 opening board — Wilds, Mystery, and a Pusher

Level 397 plays on a compact block-grid board of seven columns. Instead of plain stacks you sort a mix of special blocks: grey ’?’ mystery tiles that hide their color until you move them, spinning wild color-wheel blocks that can count as any color you feed them into, and a green upward-arrow pusher that nudges the tile above it out of place.

The bottom of the board is a row of receiver Boxes, one target color each, that you fill by dropping matching tiles into them. In the captured mid-solve state the red and green receivers are already essentially topped off, while the blue and pink ones are partway through and at least one receiver is still waiting for its first tile. The special blocks sit near the top of the tray, which means the early game is about opening them up without over-committing your conveyor.

Because the level is marked Hard, the danger is the mix of mechanics firing at once. A single careless tap can stack a mystery tile on the belt right as a wild block frees, leaving you holding a color with no open receiver.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 397

The board punishes greedy feeding more than it punishes slow sorting. Here is the layout:

  • Wild color-wheel blocks cap the top of the tray: they span the columns near the top and can be spent into whichever receiver is front and center. Bank them until a Box opens, then spend them all at once.
  • Grey ’?’ mystery tiles hide their color: you cannot plan a combo around a tile you have not revealed yet, so every early mystery pickup is a small gamble.
  • An upward-arrow pusher sits mid-tray: when it activates it shoves the tile above it upward, shifting a block you may have been about to play. Never build a tall same-color stack right above it.
  • Only a handful of receivers are open at a time: with red and green nearly full in the visible frame, the board wants you to finish those before chasing colors whose Boxes have not cycled in yet.

Marble Sort Level 397 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Treat every special block as an asset, not a decoration. Follow the release order.

Opening: clear what is open, hoard the specials

Marble Sort level 397 mid-solve board

  1. Feed the tiles that match an open receiver straight down as they become reachable — these are the only completely safe drops on the board.
  2. Finish the receiver that is already closest to full first (the red and green Boxes are near-complete in the visible frame). Closing a Box frees conveyor space fast.
  3. Do not spend the wild color-wheel blocks yet. Keep them in the tray until a receiver they can finish is sitting in the active slot.
  4. Peel the grey ’?’ mystery tiles one at a time. If the reveal matches an open Box, drop it; if not, leave that column alone and come back later.
  5. Watch the upward-arrow pusher. Clear the tile above it early so that when it fires it cannot disrupt a stack you are actively sorting.

Midgame: let the wilds and mysteries work for you

As the opening receivers close, the tray thins and the special blocks become your fastest tool. The visible mid-solve board is already partway here — several receivers holding their first tiles, wild blocks still at the top, and the mystery and pusher tiles still in play.

  1. Spend a wild color-wheel block on whichever receiver is front and center — it fills that slot without needing a specific color in the tray.
  2. Keep revealing mystery tiles in twos and threes so that when one shows a useful color the tiles around it often match.
  3. Do not feed a color whose receiver has already closed. Let those tiles ride at the back of the tray until the Box row cycles them back into an active slot.
  4. If a mystery tile drops into the conveyor, treat it as unknown and avoid stacking a second play directly on top of it.
  5. Use the pusher deliberately once it is safe: it can shift a tile into reach of its open Box, turning an obstruction into a free drop.

Cleanup: empty the stragglers

In the endgame the board narrows to a handful of single tiles and the last open receivers. The level completes the moment the final tile lands in its Box.

  1. Play only to the active front row from here. Chase the colors whose receivers are still open and leave the rest parked.
  2. Spend any remaining wild color-wheel block on the last receiver that still needs a tile — wilds clear whatever color gap you have left.
  3. Feed the trailing mystery tiles only as they reveal a color with an open Box, and let the final receiver pull the last stragglers down.

Level 397 Tips Recap

  • Bank the wild color-wheel blocks and spend them only on the receiver that is front and center.
  • Reveal ’?’ mystery tiles early but never gamble a combo on a color you have not seen yet.
  • Clear the tile above the upward-arrow pusher so it cannot ruin a stack you are sorting.
  • Finish the nearest-open receivers first and let the Box row cycle the rest of the colors back into play.
