Marble Sort Level 428 Walkthrough & Solution

Level 428 Board Overview: The Half-Filled Crate Grid

Marble Sort level 428 opening board — The Half-Filled Crate Grid

Level 428 opens as a punishing late-game board, and the tray is only half the story. The four receiver Boxes at the top ask for Light Blue (2 tiles), Green (3), Pink (3), and Purple (2) — a modest opening list that hides how cluttered everything else is. The playfield is a wide block grid, six cells across in the upper rows and narrowing through the middle, and roughly half of its cells start empty. Right in the middle of the grid sits a wooden crate that splits the board into two awkward halves.

The tiles you can actually reach are a scattered mix of Red, Green, Orange, Pink, Brown, Light Blue, Purple, Blue, and Yellow, with a couple of darker shades stacked among them. The four opening colors — Light Blue, Green, Pink, and Purple — are all present, but so are plenty of tiles with no Box anywhere in the first receiver set. The belt below is already loaded too: Red and Brown lead the queue, a long stream of Green follows them, and the waiting stacks hold neat blocks of Pink, Green, and Yellow in threes.

That gap is the whole level. If you feed the tray in the order the belt presents it, you will park Red and Brown with nowhere to go and choke the queue before a single Box clears. The board wants you to read the receivers first and feed only what they actually ask for.

The Trap in Marble Sort Level 428

The tray is rigged to reward whatever is in front of you and punish whatever is beside it. Here is the layout:

  • Red and Brown lead the belt: the very first two tiles in the queue are Red and Brown, and neither color has an open Box. Tap them early and the conveyor jams before the opening clears.
  • Only four colors have Boxes: Light Blue, Green, Pink, and Purple are the entire opening set. The visible Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Brown tiles — plus the darker red shades on the grid — are pure bait until the receivers cycle.
  • The crate blocks the middle: the wooden crate seals the center of the grid, so the opening plays happen around the rim while the columns beside the crate stay awkward to reach.
  • Green arrives in a flood: the belt streams Green for a long stretch, but the Green Box only wants three tiles. Every extra Green you pull parks on the belt and takes space from colors that still need feeding.

Marble Sort Level 428 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Discipline beats speed on this board. Follow the release order and you clear the tray without ever jamming the belt.

Opening: feed only what has a Box

Marble Sort level 428 mid-solve board

  1. Tap the Light Blue tiles first — the Box needs only two. There is one at the top-right of the grid and another down the left side, so collect them before anything else.
  2. Move to the Green Box next and take exactly the three Greens it asks for from the long belt stream. Do not keep pulling Green once the Box is satisfied.
  3. Fill the Pink Box with the Pink tiles sitting mid-grid. Pink also has a full block waiting in the stacks, so you can finish this Box from two directions.
  4. Drop the two Purple tiles into the Purple Box. They sit near the top rows around the crate, so reach them while the middle of the board is still open.
  5. Let the Red and Brown tiles at the belt head cycle right past you. Neither Box exists yet, and both colors also sit on the grid — they can wait.
  6. Leave Orange, Yellow, Blue, and the dark red shades alone for now. Nothing in the opening receiver set asks for them, so every one you drop early is belt space stolen from the colors that matter.

Midgame: the tray clears and the Boxes cycle

By the middle of the solve the grid is mostly empty. Only the top rows still hold tiles — the same Pink, Green, Orange, Brown, and Light Blue you saw at the rim at the start, plus a stray dark Blue down the left column. The crate row and everything below it has cleared, and the receivers have cycled to a fresh set of colors, Blue, Purple, and Green among them.

  1. As soon as the Boxes cycle, feed Blue the moment its receiver opens — the stray dark Blue tile is already sitting in reach.
  2. The belt now delivers runs of Orange, then Light Blue, Purple, and Blue. Wait for the matching Box and ride each run through instead of grabbing tiles out of order.
  3. Watch the waiting stacks: Green, Purple, Orange, Light Blue, and Yellow now arrive in blocks of three. One full block closes an entire Box in a single pass, so hold a triple until its color shows in the open receivers.
  4. Purple keeps showing up both on the grid and in the belt runs — treat it as a high-priority feed whenever the Purple Box is open, since it appears so often.

Cleanup: empty grid, running belt

The end frame shows the tray fully stripped: no tiles left on the grid at all. A handful of receivers are still open — Blue, Purple, Green, and one reddish-brown Box — while the belt keeps feeding sets of Green, Light Blue, and Purple with more blocks of Pink, Orange, and the darker shades waiting in the holding area.

  1. With the grid empty, every remaining tile feeds straight off the belt into the open Boxes. Only tap a color whose receiver is actually open.
  2. Watch the inbound Pink set — the end frame catches a trail of Pink tiles falling toward the tray. Let them land only when a Box asks for Pink.
  3. Ride the final Green, Light Blue, and Purple sets home one receiver at a time. Match each belt run to its Box, and the level ends the moment the last receiver fills.

Level 428 Tips Recap

  • Red and Brown arrive at the belt head before any Box asks for them — let them pass and take Green from the stream behind instead.
  • Feed only the four open colors early: Light Blue, Green, Pink, and Purple. Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Brown sit on the grid as bait until the receivers cycle.
  • The wooden crate splits the middle of the board, so play the reachable rim tiles and the belt first; the crate column sorts itself out once the lower Boxes clear.
  • Wait for the triples: the waiting stacks deliver matching blocks of three, and one full block closes a Box in a single pass.
