Marble Sort Level 242 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 242 Board Overview: The Special-Tile Tray

Level 242 plays on the tile-grid board: a five-column tray, six rows deep, fed from a receiver queue below that stacks four Boxes per column. The tray is full at the start, and the danger is not the number of pieces — it is the special tiles laced through them. A cracked Purple gem sits in the second column, translucent gem-style tiles ride several stacks, and square-dotted Green and Dark Blue tiles anchor the left and right sides. Three power-ups sit at the top of the screen with a single use each, ready if the queue jams.
The receiver queue opens with four lead Boxes: White, Orange, Dark Blue, and Blue, with Yellow, Green, Purple, Cyan, Pink, and Red cycling in underneath as those fill. The grid itself mixes everything — Yellow and Purple are stacked deep in the center columns, Red, Blue, and Dark Blue cluster on the right, and Light Blue, Green, and Orange hug the left. Every color on the board has a Box somewhere in the queue, which makes the level look safer than it is: the special tiles sit on top of exactly the colors the lead Boxes want.
The end frame shows the real shape of the level. By then the tray is nearly empty — just two Yellow clusters, a Red cluster, and the last two special tiles remain, with Purple, Blue, Red, and Yellow Boxes still open at the bottom. The whole solve is a careful peel: clear the specials, feed the front of the queue, and let the cycle do the rest.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 242
The board hides its early colors under special tiles and cycles its Boxes faster than you can react. Here is the layout:
- The cracked Purple gem guards the second column: it sits above the Orange, Purple, and Pink pieces the lead Boxes need. Tap it before you are ready and it dumps an unknown Purple drop into the cycle.
- Gem and dotted tiles cap the early colors: the left column buries its White and Light Blue under a Green dotted tile, a gem tile, and a Yellow; the right column buries Blue and Dark Blue the same way. Peeling them for sport jams the queue with specials.
- The queue only pays out from the front: White, Orange, Dark Blue, and Blue lead; Yellow, Green, Purple, Cyan, Pink, and Red are waiting underneath. Feed a color whose Box is still buried and it parks on the belt with nowhere to go.
- The grey tile never leaves: a plain grey tile rides the center column from the opening all the way to the endgame. It has no Box and no use — ignore it until the tray is otherwise empty.
Marble Sort Level 242 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Feed the front of the queue and clear specials only when their color is live. Follow the release order.
Opening: take the lead Boxes

- Feed the four lead Boxes in order: White, Orange, Dark Blue, then Blue. Match grid pieces to whichever Box is at the front of the queue.
- Start on the left column — clear the Yellow on top to expose the White gem tile beneath it and drop it into the White Box.
- Tap the Orange at the base of the second column straight into the Orange Box; it is the most exposed lead color on the board.
- Work the right side next: the Blue and Dark Blue pieces at the base of the rightmost column feed their lead Boxes in runs.
- Do not touch the cracked Purple gem yet — its Box is still buried in the queue, and breaking it early just strands a Purple drop on the belt.
Midgame: the six-Box cycle
By mid-solve the queue has cycled: White, Orange, Cyan, and Blue have completed and slid off, leaving six Boxes active — Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Green, Purple, and Dark Blue. The tray has thinned to the specials and the colors buried under them.
- Feed the Light Blue chain in the left column — three Light Blue tiles stacked together finish the Light Blue Box in one pass.
- Clear the Green dotted tile at the base of the fourth column into the Green Box; the Green swirl tile in the fifth column follows.
- Bank the Purple: the cracked gem from the opening breaks into a Purple drop, and the Purple solid at the top of the fourth column matches it. Feed them as the Purple Box reaches the front.
- Take the Red tiles from the fourth and fifth columns — the dotted and swirl variants both count toward the Red Box.
- Keep Yellow moving: the Yellow-orange gradient tile at the top of the third column and the Yellow solids in the second and third columns feed the Yellow Box.
- Leave the Pink swirl in the second column alone — no Pink Box is active in the current six, so it is bait until the queue cycles again.
- Treat the grey tile as dead weight. It never matches a Box, so the only safe play is to leave it sitting in the center column.
Cleanup: flush the last specials
The end frame shows the tray stripped down: two Yellow clusters, one Red cluster, and the final two special tiles, with Purple, Blue, Red, and Yellow Boxes still taking tiles below.
- Feed the Yellow clusters as the Yellow Box reopens — the last Yellows on the board clear in one burst.
- Drop the Red cluster into the Red Box once it slides to the front. Red is the final ordinary color left in the tray.
- Flush the last two special tiles into whichever Box their color matches; with the tray otherwise empty they drop straight through.
- Let the queue cycle through its last open Boxes — Purple, Blue, Red, and Yellow — and the level ends the moment the final tile lands.

Level 242 Tips Recap
- Feed only the front of the queue: White, Orange, Dark Blue, and Blue open the level; the other colors wait for their Boxes to cycle in.
- Special tiles are roadblocks, not prizes — break the cracked Purple and clear the gems only when their color has a live Box.
- The grey center tile has no Box and never moves; ignore it until the endgame.
- In the last stretch the tray is nearly empty — just feed the remaining Yellow and Red clusters and flush the final specials.
