Marble Sort Level 258 Walkthrough & Solution
Level 258 Board Overview: The Four-Outlet Countdown

Level 258 plays on a cross-shaped grid of empty white slots, and everything that matters hangs off its four numbered outlet containers. Two sit above the top row of the cross and read 3 at the start; two more flank the middle row and read 0 from the very first frame. Those numbers are the level’s scoreboard — the top pair counts down as you deliver, and the side arms never ask for anything.
The grid itself opens with pre-placed colored tiles: Blue, Orange, Pink, and Purple across the top row; Light Blue, Yellow, and Red along the middle with two grey ? mystery tiles between them; and White and Green running along the bottom. The lower half of the board is a conveyor queue stacked in rows of four — Purple, Green, Orange, and Light Blue in the front row, then Purple, Red, Purple, Red, with Yellow, Red, and Pink rows behind.
The colors that actually move this level are Light Blue and Blue. Light Blue rides in the opening grid, the first queue rows, and the midgame feed line in a long stream, while the pre-placed top-row tiles sit waiting for the countdowns to open. Purple, Red, and Yellow crowd the queue from the start, but they only matter once their number is being counted.
The Trap in Marble Sort Level 258
The board is rigged to make you feed the queue faster than the outlets can count. Here is the layout:
- Two top outlets start at 3 each: every delivery to the top pair ticks a number down, but you cannot see which color the counter wants until the grid opens. Feed blind and you burn the queue.
- The side arms are stuck at 0: the flanking outlets never need a single tile. If you route marbles toward the sides, you are shipping them nowhere.
- The front queue rows are all bait: Purple, Red, and Yellow sit in the first two rows of the conveyor, and none of them has an open countdown at the start. Tap them early and the belt jams.
- Mystery ’?’ tiles hide everywhere: two sit in the middle of the grid and more ride the queue — one Red marble at the front of the lower stack even carries a ’?’ symbol. You cannot plan a delivery around a color the tile has not shown you yet.
Marble Sort Level 258 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Read the countdowns before you commit to a single tile. Follow the release order.
Opening: play to the countdowns

- Survey the four numbered outlets before touching the grid: the top pair reads 3 each and the side arms read 0. All of the level’s work happens at the top of the board.
- Route the Light Blue tiles first. Light Blue sits in the middle of the grid, in the first queue row, and in the pre-placed layout — it is the one color with a clear path from the opening.
- Do not tap the Purple, Red, and Yellow in the first two queue rows. Their countdowns have not opened, so every one you release parks on the belt.
- Leave the pre-placed top-row Blue, Orange, Pink, and Purple alone until their color is actually being counted by an outlet.
- Keep the feed line moving with Light Blue only. The queue is deep — rows of Purple, Green, Orange, Light Blue, then Purple, Red, Purple, Red — so space on the belt is the resource you are really managing.
Midgame: open the mystery tiles
By the middle of the run the top outlets have ticked down from 3 to 1, and the feed line has turned into a Light Blue stream — the mid-solve frame shows ten Light Blues riding the conveyor at once. The lower queue is draining in batches: two full rows of Red at the front, then Orange and Pink rows, while the block stacks behind them empty out in order.
- Bank the Light Blue stream. When the belt runs a long run of one color, feed it continuously — it is the level telling you exactly which countdown to close.
- Drain the red double-stack at the front of the lower queue in pairs. Two full rows of Red clear a huge slice of the queue in a single pass.
- Work the mystery ’?’ tiles only when their revealed color matches an open countdown. If the reveal has no home, leave it and come back later.
- Watch the side arms stay parked at 0. If a color keeps cycling with no number moving, stop feeding it — it is heading for a dead arm.
- Clear the queue’s block stacks (Light Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Orange, Red, Dark Grey, and Dark Blue) in order instead of cherry-picking, so the empties open the tray for the endgame.
Cleanup: close the countdowns
The end frame catches the level still in motion, but every numbered outlet reads 0 — the top pair has finished its countdown and the side arms never moved. What remains is routing the tail of the queue.
- All four outlets are at 0, so stop sending new deliveries to them. The remaining work is clearing what is already on the field.
- Route the chain of eight Blue marbles across the grid — the end-state frame shows them strung across the field, and they are the last big movement of the solve.
- Let the final conveyor run itself out: Purple, Dark Grey, Green, Red, Light Grey, and Pink ride the belt in singles and triples, and the four storage columns hold the last Purple, Orange, and Dark Grey ’?’ blocks.
- Finish the level by feeding the stragglers as they land. Once the queue empties and the field clears, the level completes on its own.

Level 258 Tips Recap
- The numbered outlets are the scoreboard: the top pair starts at 3, the side arms sit at 0, and you should only ever play to a number that is moving.
- Light Blue is the workhorse of the level — it opens the grid, streams through the midgame, and the field’s final Blue chain closes the solve.
- Treat the Purple, Red, and Yellow queue rows as parking-lot bait until their countdown opens.
- Mystery ’?’ tiles live in both the grid and the queue — never commit a delivery to a color the tile has not shown you.
