Level 166 Board Overview: Locked Center, Open Rim

Level 166 opens with a board split in two. The center of the grid is frozen: a cluster of marbles sits locked behind key tiles, with the top-left column holding a locked dark marble as well. Around that frozen core, the rest of the top row is free — a handful of Blue, Green, and Teal marbles you can move immediately.

Below the grid, the receiver boxes line up in four columns and cycle as you fill them. The front row of boxes sets the feeding order at any moment, and the conveyor queue above them keeps pushing new marbles toward the grid the whole time. Two covered, immovable blocks sit on the board as well — one red block on the right edge and one dark-green block in the mid-left — and neither can be shifted, so the playable lanes run around them.

The whole level is a single-key economy. There is one key available, the center cluster is the only thing worth spending it on, and everything else is a matter of waiting for the right box.

The board is designed to make you waste the key and jam the conveyor:

• The frozen center: a chain of locked marbles (mostly Yellow) sits in the middle columns, plus a locked dark marble at the top-left. They cannot move until the key is spent — and there is exactly one key.
• Free-marble bait: the loose Blue, Green, and Teal marbles on the top row are tempting to grab in any order, but feeding a color whose box is not in the front row just parks it on the belt.
• Conveyor pressure: the queue delivers Pink, Teal, Orange, and Grey waves. Grey and Orange have no home until their boxes cycle forward, so grabbing them early jams the belt.
• Covered blocks: the red block on the right and the dark-green block on the mid-left shrink the usable space and can swallow marbles you drop carelessly next to them.

The order matters more than speed. Work the free row, then the key, then the conveyor.

Opening: clear the free top row

1. Start with the free Blue marble in the second column — it is the most exposed marble on the board and feeds the Blue box cleanly.
2. Take the Green marble in the third column next, dropping it into its matching receiver.
3. Clear the Teal marble near the top-right of the grid while its box is in the front row.
4. Grab the remaining free marbles along the top row one at a time, always checking that a matching receiver is showing before you tap.
5. Do not touch the locked center cluster yet — the key only carries one charge, and the locked colors can wait.
6. Ignore the covered blocks on the right edge and mid-left; they never move, so plan around them.

Midgame: spend the key on the center

Once the free row is gone, the front row of boxes cycles and the center becomes reachable.

7. Wait until the front row is showing a Yellow box, then spend the key to unlock the Yellow marbles in the center cluster.
8. Feed the freed Yellows straight into the Yellow box while it is still in front.
9. Unlock and clear the dark marble at the top-left as soon as you can — it sits directly over the playable lane and freezes everything beneath it.
10. Keep the belt short: only pull from the conveyor when the box for that color is currently in the front row.
11. As the queue starts delivering Pink and Teal, feed them immediately — both colors get boxes early in this phase.

Cleanup: ride the conveyor to the finish

With the center open, the level becomes a conveyor-timing exercise.

12. Feed the Pink wave as the Pink box comes to the front.
13. Hold the Orange marbles on the belt only as long as necessary — the Orange box appears, so time your grab to it.
14. Leave the Grey marbles alone until a Grey box cycles into the front row; there is no reason to commit them early.
15. Keep rotating: clear each color the moment its box is in front, and the remaining locked cells pop open on their own.
16. Finish by feeding the last stragglers from the queue; once every box is full, the level clears.
